Well, the picture is way to blurred to even guess what it could be.
My suggestion though would be a formation of F-35 Lightning II first hovering and then accelerating and leaving.What's up Drakh? -

What's to be curious about? If someone has come forward to admit they put this together as a prank, then what's the point in further investigation? There are links thru to plenty of videos showing sky lanterns from the page linked to in the OP...This Staircase has 105 Steps...Comment
