  • Graphic Audio

i have been vaguely aware of the existence of Graphic Audio for a few years, however they have now released a work by a favorite author of mine (Hunting Party by Elizabeth Moon). listening to the snippet was a little odd, i like multi readers on audiobooks but the sound effects are a little odd to my ears. i could see myself listening to it, but i'm curious has anyone else here listened to any graphic audio stuff? and what do you think with the sound effects?

I don't have a problem with FX on audio books. But then I'm a fan of old time radio programs and the differences between the two are small.
    no boom today . . .

Got it. Thanks for the info. Took a quick look at the site, but I wasn't sure if they just add the elements to the unabridged book, or if they adapt the book. One of the things that I find jarring in dramatic presentations is that the text of the book will describe something and then a sound effect does the same job. It comes out of the Department of Redundancy department. I've enjoyed dramatic presentations a lot more when the text has been modified slightly in order to allow the effects and cast to blend in more.

having listened to hunting party twice now, i'm very pleased with it, while som eof the effects felt somewhat off it was very well done (my biggest objection was to the echoing effect for the cave)
