Damn what a fine underappreciated series. After seeing the first two seasons (of the new series) on the local network, I started d/l-ing the rest, and boy are there some real gems in there. How they managed to bring great actors, great storylines and unbelievable endings together so well is beyond me. A few stinkers it does have, but when it's good, it's downright great. Stuff like "Quality of Mercy" or "The Light Brigade" or "Deja Vu" or "The Shroud" or "Dead Man's Switch" (albeit that particular one was somewhat ruined by the forced bad ending), or... well, you get my meaning. Plus it had Christopher Franke score one episode, and Bruce Boxleitner star in another.

I only remember a few eps - mostly because SciFi condemned it to the farthest corners of the schedule whenever it was on. I think it was a Showtime only show before then too. One with a magic wallet that stole for you... or something.

The other I only saw because I took a trip and the hotel had good cable. It was something about negotiations for a war that went badly wrong. The theme of these aliens was that actions always spoke louder than words, and in the end the humans on the team ended up killing themselves to demonstrate their sincerity.

Being only a Trek fan up to that point, I was used to happy endings. It was rather shocking, and prodded me into expanding my imagination a bit.

The opening rules though. That I know.

Oh yeah, the dude who reads those lines has a voice to die for. And that's heterosexually speaking.

I saw one where these kids were training in a boot camp type setting, but for whatever reason, I didn't get to finish it. It did look interesting, though. The old OL was cool, too.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

So why did they make two themed sets and then stop putting this show out on DVD? Anyone know?

They came out over a year and a half ago. One about sex and one about time, roughly. I just wonder why they stopped there. Sales, I'd wager. They said since it wasn't a serialized show, they were going to release them in themed sets instead of by season.
