I'm sure that some three-letter agencies will be looking into that...

Too bad that we developed shields first, though.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

What's to look into? The technology's nothing new, just that they're using it regularly.

China is a thoroughly unethical organization.

And...all this has what to do with making it rain?

It's a potential weapon. We need to neutralize it. Like I said, though, the fact that we've developed sci-fi "shields" shows that we're outpacing them in the tech race.

Did you actually read the article? I'm sorry, but that makes no sense at all. If it were the slightest bit useful as a weapon, don't you think somebody would have used it against somebody else in the last 50 years or so since it was discovered? In fact, it's really quite low-tech and cheap 'technology'.

I can never tell whether these threads (and the people in them) are serious or not. So I think I'll just amuse myself at the thought of the modern-day swords-to-plowshares bit.

With vastly-improved delivery systems and a little imagination, the limitations are endless.

Your logic fails in that it could be said about nukes, too.
