  • 'Jericho' fans fight back

This article on CNN says that 'Jericho fans are sending a message:
"We are tired of the networks (not just CBS) tossing aside quality programming," was the message carried by jericholives.com, one of several Web sites protesting the cancellation. "Enough! We're going to fight for this one."
I stopped watching it after a while, not because it wasn't good, I just was watching more TV than I wanted to. I'm glad to see that the fans are letting the networks know what they want.

"As empathy spreads, civilization spreads. As empathy contracts, civilization contracts...as we're seeing now.

It seems like the networks are conceding to a lot of the sci-fi shows to bring them back in some capacity or another. Farscape, Firefly, now Stargate and Bab 5...we'll see where this leads.

      Fans win one

Jericho has been renewed for at least seven episodes next year. It looks like CBS really did listen to the fans this time.

Encouraged with that success, Aint It Cool is trying to spearhead a Save Veronica Mars campaign

I am - Hercules!! Yesterday, it cost $8.49 to ship a Mars Bar to The CW and its entertainment president, Dawn Ostroff (to entice them to greenlight the further adventures of Veronica Mars before June 15). Today, thanks to the good people...

NUTS! Man, it is sure nice to see movement. I didn't expect it, but here we go. I hope they tighten the story lines, so if it fails in the end (something I do NOT hope, but I expect the worst) they can tidy it up, like JMS with Season 4. If it works out it could have the "Season 5" Effect, what do you think: Should they try to tighten up the storylines with those episodes or should they go on like there is no tomorrow..?

Season 5 wasn't bad :P It just wasn't as epic as season 4, so watching it after that felt like a let down. If any of those eps occured prior to season 4 we would have thought they were amazing, for the most part.

              Season 5 wasn't bad
No, it wasn't... It is just - compared to the prior Seasons - a little less packed with "WOW!". That is a subjective statement, and - compared to other shows - the "less packed" is still pure gold. I just think what would have happened if JMS had his artistic freedom. So I am torn between my wish for artistic freedom (which is strong) and my wish for closure. I would really like to see the man (or the men) who pulled the strings on the bombs, why they did it and what they gained.

Strange for me is the suggestion of a political message in some media. Yes, the people in Jericho are running with scis... guns (*g*), but what would I do in that situation. I'd guess I'd search for some kind of weapon. So I can't see anything "political" in that. Or the "conservative" mayor. Well, he was strong on family values, but as a liberal (leftist) thinker I find nothing wrong with that. He decides, but he listens to suggestions. He is a very honest man (maybe there is a illusion, I am not so sure that there are that many honest politicans alive, but that's just me). I watched it and at no time I felt "political message" jumping out of the screen. So I am starting to believe there was at some stage a try to lessen the viewers to the "Right Wing" population. Whatever the one responsible for that thought to gain I don't know. Anyway, if anybody has a different opinion I would be glad to hear it...
