  • Rocket comes home to New York

so there i am, sitting watching the game while typing a paper for class
(i tend to watch with the sound off so i can work)

and there is Clemens standing with a microphone, i turn up the sound and here the ovation. all season its been speculation with the big IF

no pelimary reports, not leaks, just one amazing moment that we all hoped for but didn't really expect

DAMN ITS GOING TO BE ONE HELL OF A SEASON

any other yankee fans here tonight?

Wouldn't call it "coming home" since the Yankees weren't the team he was drafted for and played for in his early years. Nor is it the town where he grew up. I would call it more like he went to the place where he won a world series or two and where they were offering the most money.

Having said that, it's a good pick up for the Yanks since they really need to strengthen their starting rotation.

well considering the way boston treated him after he joined the yanks (throwing batteries at him) one would generally count that as a bad thing (then the hatred between boston fans and yankee fans is a rather intense thing to experiance, especially having been the yankee fan in cap and shirt in fenway)

i'll not get started on the rotation other then to say OY!

This news almost makes me literally sick at my stomach. What a poorly-run business the New York Yankees is.

I hope they still finish 3rd or lower. All the money in the world won't buy them a World Series spot.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

i don't know the red sox seem to be making a good shot at it, after all they spent 100 mil plus on what has turned out to be a very good pitcher

may i ask who you support sir?

(oh and we do have some very good young pitched that we didn't have to "buy" even with the hughes on the dl, but with clemens to work with him i'm quite looking foward to watch his career in pinstripes)

(p.s. as a life long yankee fan who remebers that the only reason to go to the stadium for years was to watch donny play i want it firmly understood i'm not a bandwagon jumper)

Having been born and raised in Pittsburgh, for me it's the Pirates.

The Oakland Athletics...the team with the second lowest budget in MLB but one of the best, especially considering the finances. The general manager Billy Beane has a unique way of scouting for new players. Considering their record in the past several years, it seems to be working.

But yeah, I've been a fan since before the days of the Bash Brothers.
