New 2008 Star Trek Movie -- A Re-Boot
Much of this thread has been about the similarities between B5 and DS9 that support the really plausible theory that Trek stole from JMS.
Well, the new buzz about the 2008 Star Trek movie is that it is considered a re-boot of the franchise.
Funny how not too long ago JMS & Bryce Zabel wrote a series bible/treatment for a re-boot of Star Trek in TV form. Paramount passed on the idea, but now, there just happens to be a re-boot of Trek in movie form.
Maybe Paramount didn't even read the treatment, and therefore, the basic concept of a re-boot might be more of a Battlestar Galactica rip off. But, it will be interesting to see how much of the movie resembles the way JMS & Zabel envisioned a new Star Trek.
This has the potential to be the 2nd time Paramount has screwed JMS over.

Oh, and part of the rumor I read was that the movie will simply be titled Star Trek. No sequel number; no subtitle.
