Well, it's official (as official as it can be before it's actually aired anyway). Farscape is coming back. 4-hour miniseries. Peacekeeper War.

Despite the money hell that is the DVD collection, this remains far and above one of my favorite sci-fi shows. Rivals B5 in many respects, passes it in a select few.

Those who aren't familiar with it may not know that the series ended (axed by SciFi channel in Season 4 after signing contracts promising a fifth season) on possibly the most jarring note it could, a cliffhanger no one saw coming and no one could, and ironically reflected in the ep title "Bad Timing". So to give some perspective, it'd be like ending B5 with Season 3. Sheridan's leap... then whoops, that's it. So this is a real vindication to those who kept fighting for a true finish.

I'm planning to buy Farscape as soon as the season 3 bundle is released. I saw a few early episodes, but didn't care for it, but everyone keeps saying it turned out great..... so I'll give it a second chance.

I saw the news on scifi.com and in the scifi.com "sci fi wire" ... Since it's the website for the skiffy channel, I'm assuming it's official.

The Battlestar stuff was 2 shows x 2 hours each. They've had the same pattern for every other miniseries they've come out with, good (Dune, BSG) and bad (Firestarter). I see no reason why they'd play it differently with this.

Anyhow, does that mean it will be shown in the UK at the same timeor is the scifi channel different for UK and US?

I'm not sure when it will air in the UK, however, I'm pretty certain that SCI-FI (US) and Sci-Fi (UK) are two completely different beasts.

SCI-FI (US) and Sci-Fi (UK) used to be owed by the same company but the UK are was sold off.

My guess is that the Farscape mini-series will end up on BBC2
