  • Doctor Who: The Runaway Bride

    FANTASTIC!

i think they did a great job, great sfx, Cathy Tate was splendid, the villian was up to the doctors standards, freaky for kids a bit goofy for us but a good badie.

some things jumped up and bit me on the ass though

GALLIFREY! finally we got the name. which of course leads me into speculation foe the upcoming season, but since we knew the face of boe was gonna tell the doc he "isn't alone" it'll be nice to have other time lords again. The Meddling Monk, The Master, Iris Wyldetyme, Romana, Susan, The Rani, Drax are just a few i can think of as possible returning time lords

the other thing that bit me hard. The Dark Times!!!! this is more explored in the books then in the classic show but it does show up in Sylvesters time as doctor. it would be great to learn more of the dark times and since it was repeated (3 times i beleve) i have to think this is part of the forshadowing that Mr. Davis is so fond of.

    what did you guy think?

    I liked it
The hints of Darkness - of a willingess to do anything to defeat the enemy (after offering them a way out of course). I love a dark Doctor and aside from the episode "rose" we've not seen him don anything this dark in a while. Uncompramising, inhuman and Alien. Especially CT's comment that he needs a companion because he needs someone to stop him
    Phaze
on the "thought it was quite good really far better than 2005 one" ID
"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Those actively involved in combat are almost always damaged goods for the rest of their lives. If their bodies don't bear scars, their minds do, ofttimes both. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

I saw it, too. RB was cracking me up during the early stuff with Tennant & Tate, but the more serious stuff (dealing with Rose leaving) was good, too. And that spider-creature looked amazing. Even though it will be weird without Piper, I am looking forward to the third season. More eps. with Tennant--hooray!

i do have to admit i liked the more alien more grumpy more judgemental doctor. the doctor has always been at his best when he wasn't "human" in his attitudes or thought processes.

you know what i really want to see this season, i want to see the doctor take the side of the aliens agienst the humans, i woul dlove to see that, like the pertwee ep with the draconians
