Totally self-centred this one. I was in Wincanton for Hogswatch (the Discworld equiv of christmas) this weeknd just gone and have posted piccies of me (and others) on www.webshots.com/users/phazedup.
Bear in mind that's phazedup not out as phazedout was already taken
Also Hogfather is on this w/e but I'l have to PVR it as I'm in Castlebar at about 3 chrimbo parties

"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Those actively involved in combat are almost always damaged goods for the rest of their lives. If their bodies don't bear scars, their minds do, ofttimes both. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

Says they've been removed! I love Terry Pratchett books though. My favorite is Soul Music, mainly because I love all of the music references.

Does this have any relation to Hogwarts?

What did you think of the show so far then?

I'm not too happy with the voice over for the Auditors, they sounded too whiny, and I don't think anyone could play Nobby Nobbs the way I think of him. The descriptions surely cannot match any actor known to man!

                  None at all. Fortunately.

Terry Pratchett is the single most underrated writer in the English language. A spectacularly terrific writer.

The first Terry Pratchett book I ever read with Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, which he and Neil Gaiman wrote.

Although I don't have any of the Discworld books, I still want to get the entire set.

I wore out a paperback Good Omens. I have read that book far more often than is good for me, I'm sure. No worries though, got the hardcover reprint so it can take it now. *twitch*

You should. Discworld is a stellar series of titles with none that I've read (probably in the range of 15) being actively bad.

IF you liked Good Omens you might even consider buying the "children books" from PTerry, "Only You Can Save Mankind", "Johnny and the Dead" and "Johnny and the Bomb" (eg. as the "The Johnny Maxwell Slipcase" for fewer bucks). They are for children, but not stupid. You can get something out of them as a grown up...
