    TW4 missing?

I've only seen ep 1 of TW. Lots of references to other progs & films etc even a possible one to B5 when Jack was explaining the TW1 in London was destroyed, TW2 was in scotland, TW3 was in wales and TW4 had gone missing - but he was sure it would turn up one day!... Is this not what happened to B4?

I'm assuming that this is UK only...?
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

The Canadians have helped make the show so it will be transmitted there. I suspect the BBC is looking for a US buyer for Torchwood.

Torchwood is BBC3's highest rated show ever but I suspect that 2/3 of the British population do not know that BBC3 exists.

          Kind of like PBS1 here...

It was full 16:9 TV Widescreen on digital (that is to say. on cable, satelite and Freeview - free to air digital TV). However, progs made in widescreen-for-digital undergo a strange transformation when they are shown on terrestrial TV. They get cropped to a weird, pseudo-widescreen...almost a 14:9 ratio. It does not fit widescreen TVs' screens - no matter what you do to the screen settings! I assume that that is what will happen when TW hits terrestrial TV tonight

Also, it was a double episode to open the show.

Thanks, the torrented version I got was standard 4:3 (?) TV ratio, so I thought things looksed a little squished.

Having watched the first two episodes now, I think the show has gotten off to an alright start, but hasn't really "Wow!"ed me yet. The first episode felt very reminiscent of the Doctor Who episode "Rose," where an outsider becomes embroiled in the extraaordinary world of the lead character(s). And with the second episode, they weren't kidding that the show was definitely more for adults than kids!

Loved the hints Jack dropped about his adventures with Rose and the Doctor and what an interesting side-effect of his resurrection from the Who season 1 finale!

Lots of potential, so I'm in to see where they go with the series.

Early prediction- We're going to see more of those "weevils" as the series progresses.

                  What the hell is Torchwood?

Spinoff from Dr. Who. Not available on US TV yet. It features Captain Jack who was on a few Who episodes last season. As far as I can tell, not having read much about it, Torchwood is an Earth (UK) organization whose purpose is to protect Earth from alien invasion/infiltration.

Torchwood is a science fiction programme set in Wales in which a group of people fight off the alien invader of the week. The cast is multi-coloured, the characters have odd names and are in their 20s and 30s.

Unlike Doctor Who there is violence with blood and "weird" sex in rest rooms, plus gay and lesbian kissing.

What doesn't feature gay and lesbian kissing these days?
