I know nobody watched this show, but did anybody watch this show? I just got the first season at the very insistent prodding of a friend, and watched the whole thing because I couldn't stop. The humor just keeps piling up and one episode builds into another until you just laugh forever. Very good, and very intelligent. Probably why it didn't do well

My husband loves that show! Last year for Christmas I got him Season 2 (yeah, last minute - that's all I could find) and he watched it almost in one sitting. I just got Season 1 for his birthday and even I'm starting to get into it. It's smart and funny and worth watching.

Yep! that's exactly what I did. Watched the whole season 1 in I think 2 sittings. My eyes are bleeding, but it was worth it. Now I'm back to trying to catchup on SG1 before I pick up season 2 of Arrested Development with some interwoven Dr. Who in there.

Yes, I watched this show from the very beginning. Loved it, loved it, loved it. It was a smart show, which is why it is no longer on the air...

Yep, I've rented the first two years from Netflix and will check out season 3 sometime soon. It is definitely one of the best written comedies in a long time. I kept hearing that some other network or cable channel was going to pick Arrested Development up, but now I see that Jeffrey Tambor has a new series so I guess that never happened.

I would also highly recommend season one of Malcolm in the Middle. Talk about a funny show! I have no idea how long it stayed good, but season one (with the exception of the mediocre pilot) was excellent.

IIRC, Arrested Development could have been picked up by Showtime, but the producer himself said he didn't want to continue, that broke the deal.

The series finale (never shown, we only saw the preview, of course!! ) hinted at a movie, I do wish that materialized.

It was an incredibly funny show, and one full of small details that repeated viewing (or pausing a taped show, or DVD) revealed.

Also a show that many famous actors and commedians liked, judging from the guest actors.

I miss it, only consolation is that it never had a chance to "jump the shark".

Any U.S. subscribers to hi-def cable or satellite service who get HDNET can watch the show Wednesdays at 10:00 and 10:30 PM (ET - check local listings) with encores at 1:00 and 1:30 AM Thursdays, 7:00 and 7:30 PM Fridays and 3:30 and 4:00 PM Sundays.

I've been watching it and laughing, but I'm not sure it would stand up to repeated viewings, so I think I'm going to leave it off my Deep Discount DVD B1G1 Free purchase list. Dead Like Me, yes. Mary Tyler Moore S3 & S4, definitely. NYPD Blue S4 & S5, probably. The Shield S2-S4, I'm really tempted. X-Files S4 - S6, maybe. Arrested Development? Nah. Definitely "a show too far". I can't imagine watching it enough times to justify the expense.

(Now Robot Chicken and Venture Bros., which I just got via a different holiday sale - there's no question I'll watch them over and over again. )

The Shield is great to watch once per year. The show is so intense that you forget a lot of what happens after twenty episodes or so.

Have I ever posted about how I'd LOVE to see Bruce Boxleitner as the man who takes down Vic? I could see Bruce with his slick attitude being the one to do it without coming off as a villain like Whitaker did. Perhaps he could play a federal agent who investigates the station, seeing as how there were international mafias involved in some of the politics of the station. It's TV; it doesn't have to be real.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

I definitely find that Arrested Development stands up to repeated viewings. On the other hand, I don't think I could rewatch The Shield -- part of the appeal there is the incredible tension they create, which is mostly gone when you've seen the episodes already.
