Collectibles are an amazing thing. There are some things that I'd pay for and go through the trouble of getting. There are others that I would not...this one happens to be one of them.

I went to three places last week trying to find the newest Wedge Antilles action figure. I paid less than $20. But I really wanted it, and would have paid $50.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

Why him? For me, it was the fact that Wedge is my favorite Star Wars character, and the other figures of him have been trash. This one is really cool.

I thought the Wedge from the pilot 3 pack was not too bad. I only bought Jerjerrod because I've had a Vader on my bookshelf for ages. I wanted an underling for him to play with

(although in the end I had to buy two underlings because I could not resist the General Veers aswell)

I forgot about the three pack. Who was in it?

I believe they have a Piett, as well.

The three pack was from 1999 and had Wedge, Ten Numb and Arvel Crynyd.
Actually they have done a Tarkin, Piett, Motti, and Ozzel as well, but I didn't like any of them.

I have Tarkin for my classic Death Star Station playset. But wow, I need Motti now! I don't suppose they've made Tagge?

No Tagge to my knowledge. When you say 'classic' do you mean 'vintage' (from the original 70s/80s line)?

If so, is the Death Star the plastic or cardboard one?

I collect about four different things. G.I. Joe action figures, comic books, books, and melee weapons.

Most predominantly books, though. I've got a lot. And I'm running out of room for all of them.

                    Vintage.

Both, actually. There are cardboard inserts with pictures on them, but I don't use them.

I chose to populate it with both vintage and modern figures.

Nice . I remember that one.
There was a complete cardboard one as well that I used to have (different design), but I think it only came out in Europe, and is very rare now. I wish I still had it!

I have a sad and tragic history collecting Star Wars figures. I had the complete (UK available) set of original figures with about 20 stormtroopers, several imperial guards, a few of the ships, all the guns, all the backing cards. I used to set them up in little scenes from the movies. Jabba's Palace here, Imperial forces gathering there, Hoth, etc, etc.

I came home to find my mother had given them all to my toy murdering cousins. Naturally I flipped.

She gave me some mother speak babble about me being 15 and too old to play with toys. I told her they weren't toys they were collectors items.

I got my revenge though when I showed her the sort of prices all that now blasted plastic and burned cardboard are going for.

I now collect cenobites and tortured soul figures...I think i've just figured out why. (though the other half doesn't like them)

Could be worse I guess, at least I didn't get the Norman Bates figures.

I spent the first half of my life trying to convince mom that my comic book collection would be worth something someday, but to no avail. About 15 years ago, I sold off the most expensive books to a local comic shop for several thousand dollars, enough to buy a new car and finally get my own apartment. But I still had a few thousand low and mid-range books, so I suggest to my mother that we have a garage/comic book sale and put an ad in the local paper. Needless to say, we had an incredible number of collectors show up, many of whom were hoping to find a box of golden age books for a nickel I guess. Anyway, I was still selling steadily throughout the afternoon, until another collector came along and offered to buy everything that was left, for about 800 bucks. My mother just happened to walk into the garage to find change for somebody buying a knicknack for a dime, just as this guy was laying $800 cash in my hand, ten bucks a time! The look on my mother's face was beyond priceless.

I have a full size replica of a Stormtroopers blaster rifle hanging on my study wall.

Just thought I'd post a link to the UK site I bought it from in case anyone was interested. They also do Solo's pistol and a few of the weapons from Aliens. (all are mostly wood and plastic, but they look cool )
