Seeing as how an investigation is already underway over leaks and has been for a few months...

As Mike said on a different message board, there's a difference between publishing "The U.S. has a program in place to do this" and "This is EXACTLY HOW the program works / this is what they're specifically looking for".

Time to start the arrests. I figure that once these shitdicks are in prison, most of them will be willing to give up their sources pretty quickly.

              • To use another analogy --- the Germans KNEW we wanted to invade Europe during WW II.

Revealing the how, where, and when would have been a bit crucial.

Luckily, nobody leaked the whole Enigma/Coventry thing during WW2, eh?
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

                    • Maybe Turtledove could use Keller as the focal point of a rift in the space-time continuum and America loses the War on Terrorism.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- House Republican leaders on Wednesday postponed a vote on renewing the 1965 Voting Rights Act after GOP lawmakers complained it unfairly singles out nine Southern states for federal oversight.

                            • It's nothing more than a "feel good" bill that is largely unncessary in this day and age. It would be nothing more than Federal gerrymandering by any other name. More than seventy percent of blacks and more than eighty percent of Hispanics oppose it. The affected areas -- not just southern, mind you -- have been unable to change anything at all in their voting procedures for forty years. To extend this once useful and landmark bill would be to shit all over states' rights.

                              And in other election news:

Felipe Calderon Wins Official Count in Mexican Presidential Election
                              Thursday, July 06, 2006
                              Associated Press

MEXICO CITY - The ruling party's Felipe Calderon won the official count in Mexico's disputed presidential race Thursday, a come-from-behind victory for the stiff technocrat. But his leftist rival refused to concede and said he'd fight the results in court. Calderon, a conservative who preached free-market values and financial stability during the campaign, was already reaching out to other parties to build a "unity government." His opponent, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, blamed fraud for his narrow loss in the vote count and called on his supporters to fill Mexico City's main square Saturday in a show of force.

The old way of doing things: We don't win, so we rebel. When this happens in America, bloggers just whine that the SCOTUS "selected" the president.

Yay for Calderon. I mean, he's the lesser of two evils.

                              • Then if the states can't get their asses in gear in regard to changing voting procedures, then the federal government should get involved. Instead, the states want to bitch and whine when the government does that.

Politics as usual. Now, if only the last 2 World Cup games would start.

For 3rd place- Germany vs. Portugal.

For the World Cup- Italy vs. France.
