    Hey JMS: BSG plus great Bush joke

    Just curious on your opinion of BSG. I like the show quite a bit especially the political threads and the relevancy of the show in regards to current events. I do believe that shows like BSG (which I watch and love almost as much as B5) and Lost (which I don't watch because I don't have the time) were able to be made because of what you did in regards to B5.

    I'm looking forward to your next piece of work. Please take my money (I like to think I am part of that highly desired demographic group that advertisers love) so you can feed your cat.

    Cheney gets a call from his "boss", W.
    "I've got a problem," says W.
    "What's the matter?" asks Cheney.
    "Well, you told me to keep busy in the Oval Office, so, I got a jigsaw puzzle, but it's too hard. None of the pieces fit together and I can't find any edges."
    "What's it a picture of?" asks Cheney.
    "A big rooster," replies W.
    "All right," sighs Cheney, "I'll come over and have a look."
    So he leaves his office and heads over to the Oval Office. W points at the jigsaw on his desk.
    Cheney looks at the desk and then turns to W and says, "For crying out loud, Georgie - put the corn flakes back in the box."

    JMS does not post here. It's even extremely doubtful that he has ever read the posts on this site (but in case he ever does the site policy is to not have any story ideas posted).
    The site archives messages that JMS posts to Usenet (see site FAQ).
    And be sure to check the Forums FAQ too....

      As Capt. Montoya said, (thanks, Capt.!) JMS doesn't hang out here.

      Also, jokes are fine but we've got a thread in the "Off Topic" forum where political posts/humor would be better.

        Typical that a follower of JMS would greet him with a Bush-bashing joke.

        Maybe I'm just cynical.

        I used to work in Manteca.
        Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

              I could make a really vicious remark here about the "typical JMS fan" but I'll refrain.

                It would simply be another of your overwhelming generalizations. And, depending on how "really vicious" it turned out to be, it might simply be a waste of your time if it disappeared. But you're perfectly welcome to be every bit as inaccurate as ZD was when he referred to "typical" posters and "followers" of JMS.

                  Oh, I'm a 'typical JMS-fan' and I'm quite happy with that. I can think of lots of things that are worse.

                      Hmm ... given the many nationalities that appear to be represented on this board (being a Brit myself with an interest, but nothing more, in American politics), any generalisations of "typical JMS fans" on these grounds would be baseless to say the least.

                      In addition, this board likely represents a small section of those who are fans of B5, or his other works in general ... and I am fairly certain that many members here (myself included) have never strayed down the line of revealing our stance on politics, religion or other such controversial subjects.

                      Whilst I am sure making a 'really vicious remark here about the "typical JMS fan"' would amuse you immensely, personally I'd just as soon not see such a pointless exercise take place.

                        Don't be discouraged by this thread drifting into politics. Other threads are more focused (as long as they don't touch political controversies).

                        With that said...

                        Speaking of generalizations and "average" fans of B5 and/or JMS:

                        The average B5 fan is smarter than the average conservative.



                        P.S. I know, no, there's no such thing as an average B5 fan.
                        (because B5 fans are above average!!!)

                            politically incorrect, while still kinda true? Ok: The only good Star Trek Show was DS9, and only because they ripped of B5 *g*

                            (there are nice ST shows and episodes, but there is seldom a *good* episode)
