There really is lots and lots of good material to find in the series, when you're looking for a nice little avatar...

Any ideas, please point me in the right direction. I kind of like this Book of Lost Souls cover of Colleen's... Guess I should ask her if it would be okay.

Hmm... well, personally, I always liked that funny little picture of Daffy Duck revealing himself as Kosh. Or you could take the space duck.

Concerning screenshots of episodes, I always loved the image of Valen, with the 2 vorlons at his side. Or Sheridan, before he goes beyond the rim. Or Londo, watching as the Centauri warships bombard Narn. Or later in ItB, when he looks down on his burning home planet. The Kosh-relevation-scene has already been mentioned, so I'll skip that.

There really is lots and lots of good material to find in the series, when you're looking for a nice little avatar...

Vacantlook has an avatar like that over at the B5TV forums.
Another suggestion would be, A pic of the White Star that sherridan used at the start of his confruntation with Earth. The one with the symbol on it.
I know what you mean about shrinking a pic too much. I think my Avatar is too small for people to recognize it but I do like the map I decided to use it anyway.

Thanks for the idea. Not sure I qualify for angelic but I'd love to see what you might find.

BTW, don't forget that if an avatar was made by somebody else, I'll want to give them credit. Also, I forgot to include the standard 'Decision of the judge is final' disclaimer.

Here's the thing:

-Yesterday I thought I found a cool new avatar and wanted to play around with it but discovered a snag caused by the recent upgrade, which DougO fixed quickly (thanks, Doug).

-I discovered that my idea didn't work when shrunk so I went back to my old avatar. Thing is, I'm a little bored with it (and Cornholio claiming I poached has nothing to do with it, you hear? Nothing at ALL!)

-So I tried a cute kitten avatar but it's really just not 'me', you know? (and Night Marshal's thoughts after having gotten up too early didn't affect my opinion. Nope, not at all! Uh-uh.)

So I thought, why not let you folks see what you come up with. I'm pretty sure many of you are much more imaginative and inventive than I am so let's have a contest. What I'm looking for is...

-preferably obviously B5 related. At least SF related. Or space related. You know, like that.
-something that will immediately reflect the dignity and authority a moderator has (oh, I'm in so much trouble now).
-nothing involving my own picture. I'm not nearly as photogenic as Amy is.
-nothing requiring animation. Those are only cute once (imo).

That's all I can think of right now. But wait, there's more!

What's a contest without a prize? So, I've reached into my big bag of "jeez, Jan, you do collect the damnedest things" and come out with.....(small drum roll, please)...pencils! Yes, folks, real, official Babylon 5 pencils from Dorda Toys 'way back when. Each of the pencils has a ship attached to a cap on the eraser end. One's a starfury, one's a Centauri ship, one's the 'green ship', one's the shuttle and one I don't know. Yep, five B5 pencils. But wait, if that weren't cool enough, you also get a...pencil sharpener! Once again, I don't know what ship it is. But it's green.
