Here's the thing:
-Yesterday I thought I found a cool new avatar and wanted to play around with it but discovered a snag caused by the recent upgrade, which DougO fixed quickly (thanks, Doug).
-I discovered that my idea didn't work when shrunk so I went back to my old avatar. Thing is, I'm a little bored with it (and Cornholio claiming I poached has nothing to do with it, you hear? Nothing at ALL!)
-So I tried a cute kitten avatar but it's really just not 'me', you know? (and Night Marshal's thoughts after having gotten up too early didn't affect my opinion. Nope, not at all! Uh-uh.)
So I thought, why not let you folks see what you come up with. I'm pretty sure many of you are much more imaginative and inventive than I am so let's have a contest. What I'm looking for is...
-preferably obviously B5 related. At least SF related. Or space related. You know, like that.
-something that will immediately reflect the dignity and authority a moderator has (oh, I'm in so much trouble now).
-nothing involving my own picture. I'm not nearly as photogenic as Amy is.
-nothing requiring animation. Those are only cute once (imo).
That's all I can think of right now. But wait, there's more!
What's a contest without a prize? So, I've reached into my big bag of "jeez, Jan, you do collect the damnedest things" and come out with.....(small drum roll, please)...pencils! Yes, folks, real, official Babylon 5 pencils from Dorda Toys 'way back when. Each of the pencils has a ship attached to a cap on the eraser end. One's a starfury, one's a Centauri ship, one's the 'green ship', one's the shuttle and one I don't know. Yep, five B5 pencils. But wait, if that weren't cool enough, you also get a...pencil sharpener! Once again, I don't know what ship it is. But it's green.
