  • Katie is back!

O.K. So this may not interest anyone here but my big heroine Kate Bush has just released a new single and will release her new double-cd on november 7th. This is the first new work in 12 years... You can watch the video of "King of the Mountain", a song about Elvis(!) at www.katebush.com

These words do not convey my extreme happiness.
I shall be counting the days...

I'm very glad for you! But...er...you may want to add an 'e' to the end of 'heroin' or you might give the wrong impression.

It was a different Kate, Kate Moss, who was called "Cocaine Kate" by the British Tabloids.

If I had to choose a Kate, it'd probably be Kate Winslet.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

Who would make a better president Kate Bush or George Clinton?

Clinton, of course. Hell, he's already got his own Parliament.

I have to agree. I think Kate would not be the least interested in running a political machine. And listening to Cloudbusting I don't think she is overly fond of te government...

Besides, it took her 12 years to make this cd-set, so I'd rather see her write more music...

Edit : Such a shame Frank Zappa died. Now THAT presidency would have been something refreshing! Something to talk about in the morning over coffee.

The story goes, though it may be one of the hundreds of myths about Ms Bush, that after the umpteenth request to see what she had been working on since The Red Shoes, Kate invited record company executives around to show them. They flew over at great expense, she sat them down, gave them hot homemade biscuits and told them that the baking was what she was working on and could they please leave her alone.

And that is actually a true story although the request of the company was that 'they could come and have a talk'...

BTW : I'm hooked! I would have been satisfied with just new work, regardless whether it would be better or worse than in the past. But this double-cd, well... Listen to 'The Coral Room' and be impressed. If you haven't been already by the first five songs...

No, I have not changed one bit since 1982. Not as far as Mrs. Bush is involved.

I've just heard the BBC interview with her where the story is laughed off by Kate as another myth. I've also just heard the album too. 'Mrs. Bartolozzi' is my favourate, who but Kate could make a washing machine so sexy?

                        I was first!!

The only woman who can sing 'washingmachine, swooshie washingmachine' and sound bloody erotic... Anyway ; I only heard the second CD so far ...

About that 'visit' we talked about : she may laught it off but I have interviews in which she admits it... but with the alteration I made earlier; the request was much more vague.

And I'm still hooked. The whole first cd has now gone round and round for days and days and... I just can't get back to the second cd for a second listen. Oh well, I'll have more 'unexplored Katie' later on...

I bet if I play it often enough I'll know at least 50 decimals of Pi...

I think the flavour must be 'charm'...
