  • Star Wreck *spoilers*

Last night, rather than watching " 'Housewives" I tuned into "Star Wreck".
I like Trek, I like B-5, but what do the rest of you think?
I was really impressed w/ the CGI used, top notch [well top for a PC viewing anyways...]
They certainly maintained the ship size difference, minimized the effectiveness of Trek weapons & removed Treks biggest defensive weapon, shields, to level out the playing field.
What did you think of the outcome?

I really, really, REALLY don't like the mixing of SciFi Series. "Who 'd win", was always a stupid question for me, so I have my problems with the film. But I must admit, the special effects where *quite nice* (been impressed), and I also liked the actor who played the commander of Babylon 5, even while he put a tongue in the cheek while playing, I think there was some talent. The rest... well... it was funny, though 8o)

Strangely enough I thought the Klingon was quite the way an average Klingon would be (so: a not so very heroic and alpha as normaly shown in Star Trek).

I ABSOLUTELY DISLIKE the "discussions" of Sci-fi show VS Sci-fi show. but this movie REALLY made those discussions into a Funny delight to watch. I found the movie to be quite entertaining it certainly points out the things that most people complain about in each show and plays on it further. Kudos to them . . . now If I could only find a Poster or something . . .

Free Internet "Star Trek" spoof is top Finnish film
Monday November 21 10:45 AM ET

A spoof of science-fiction classic "Star Trek" has become Finland's most viewed movie, relying on free distribution over the Internet to reach more than three million viewers in less than two months.

"Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning" is a full-length feature in Finnish with English subtitles. It was made by a group of students and other amateur film makers with a bare-bones budget and a few home computers to create elaborate special effects.

According to the Finnish Internet hosting firm Magentasites Oy, which is helping to distribute Star Wreck, 2.92 million copies have been downloaded from the film's Web site (http://www.starwreck.com) since October 1, and an estimated 600,000 copies have gone out through various mirror sites.

Finland's most-viewed film in the movie theatres is war epic "The Unknown Soldier" (1955) with 2.8 million viewers.

The success of Star Wreck comes as the film industry grapples with the threats and opportunities of the Internet.

Movie studios are fearful of the rampant piracy that has ravaged their music label counterparts, but are also hoping to use the Internet to cut distribution costs and open up new markets.
