  • Funny, I was just thinking about this the other day. It may have been the first bit of set dressing from the show that I ever saw on Ebay. Assuming it's the same one, of course...but how many pieces of wall tile from B5 ever hit the market? I don't recall the price back then but I *know* it wasn't any $499.99!!

    • Someone needs to buy the above for Looney. Actually I need several to decorate a room in my house.

Jan will appreciate this, or not?

So glad I don't have to buy this because I already have several thanks to the Empress who created them.

Surely just a room would suffice?

HA! (also kind of funny that it's the only thing that seller has up at the moment)

(wondering how much she could get for the bundle of #FreeBabylon5 convention ribbons she just found the other day)

Yes I could make due with just one room. Actually all I need is about 20 of them.

All the richer that you know who it is. I assume this was someone you met at SDCC? Why would anyone want to part with one of those unless they were giving them away to raise awareness, which is the only reason I've ever parted with any I have received. Have you seen them show up on eBay before? I can't remember seeing any, but it seems like I should have considering how many you've treated people to at Cons and the lots I've handed out a few times. You would think someone else would have tried to make a buck off your efforts.

No idea who it is at all. I did #FreeBabylon5 tables at Space City Con (Galveston, TX), SDCC (San Diego, CA) and Loscon (Los Angeles, CA) so it could have been from either of those two. Can't say I've seen any show up elsewhere but then, it never occurred to me to look!

$500 for a wall hanging prop from B5. Now that's dedication! And shipping isn't free, I noticed. But it would be one great conversation starter to have in an office.

HA HA! Yes like in TREKKIES (1997). Do we have someone who has a Babylon 5 themed office like the Star Trek Dentist's office from that movie? I was just thinking of my own little abode, but having a public office decorated with B5 props and merchandise would be a great way to promote the show.

                • And to seek others who know the show. Or give yourself a sequence of questions to answer about where that odd looking thing came from. The opportunities....

NOTE: DO NOT BID unless you're okay with the buyer premium and *really* high shipping charges!

                    • I don't know anything about this seller but for folks looking to pick up the B5 script books, these have really low opening bids.

                      • This would be interesting for folks interested in costuming. Lots of detail about G'Kar's costume.

                        • Relisted this in honor of the 20th anniversary of "Sleeping in Light" coming up on the 25th. I'm down to my last 12 purple wristbands.

Sorry if you're international. I don't make any money on shipping and I only ship Priority Mail.

                          • Ted Shell was connected with Babylon 5 at one point!? Wow. Don't remember ever seeing his name linked with the show until now.

                            • Sorry this isn't about a rare or interesting find, more of an oddity.

I am trying to figure out the story behind these. I want to say that maybe this person was going to try to get an entire set of figures signed by Boxleitner and then decided it would be too difficult. I had to scrap that theory because the person didn't even bother to spell "Boxleitner" correctly - "BOXLEIGHTNER". Educated guess is this person saw BB at a convention, found the figures for sale at a vendor, bought them, and had BB sign them in hopes of making money. I think that is sad. I mean I wouldn't even bother to start that process unless I could find the figure of the actual person. LOL

But while I am on the eBay topic, what does everyone think of items listed, and even selling, as rare that really are not rare at all? U don't want to single anything out because I don't want to create any awkward situations. I guess it doesn't matter if I know it isn't really rare. If the buyer doesn't do the research it is their own fault. And in fairness some of the things I've seen are items that are rarely listed on eBay, so maybe that makes them rare when the reality is the only reason they are rarely listed is because they RARELY ever sold in the past. LOL (I want my emojis BACK!!!!!)

'Rare' is often just something people add to the titles to get into more searches. Nobody ever searches for 'common', after all. And yes, sometimes people base their research on Ebay searches so they might think things are rare when actually, in this case, it's probably that B5 fans rarely sell their stuff. (and yeah, I miss the emojis, too. YOU must be feeling completely stifled!! ;-) )
