  • There was an SFBC edition of all three trilogies. Don't see the Psi Corps one on Ebay at the moment but this is about the best price around for the Techno-Mage omnibus:

Quite tempted but the shipping is a bit steep to the UK. I'm reading the Psi Corps one at the moment. I tried contacting Jeanne directly to see if I could source the books from her, but to no avail.

I've got a set of these and also some silver Narn fighters. They're really cute!

        • Ha! Amazing, although I don't think they'd suit me.

          • Woo! I just won a B5 Scripts of JMS Vol. 2 for $5 on eBay. Sure I have to pay $15 postage to the UK, but it’s still a real steal!

Very pleased. Btw, what was the cover price on these originally?

$40 plus shipping. For the first 10 days of their release, they were discounted by 10 dollars.

Looks like I did okay then! Am going to keep picking these up as I find them. Looks like a buyers market right now.

It really is. Recently, there was a poster inquiring about how much his collection was worth. I checked the usual places (eBay, etc) and was shocked at how low they are selling for these days. I don't know if the 20th anniversary next year will bring prices back up, but for now, buy everything you can while it's cheap.

                  • I think the script books will make an interesting test case for the collectible market regarding print on demand product. Since only enough copies were printed to fill orders, that means there aren't any more, but it also means that most of the people that wanted the books already have them. I'm assuming that the people who want them in the future are new fans that suddenly discover the books are out there.

I think it's because real incomes are down and so a lot of people just don't have the money to spend on that kind of a purchase. e.g. My good TV died a couple of months ago and I've been running on the backup 19" color 4:3 TV from the 1970s, which only has a 300 ohm antenna input (I use a 300 ohm to 75 ohm converter but am limited to RF video. Composite video, which my switch uses is not possible.), and that TV is going bad, too. I've got to replace the TV (with a 32" LED Sharp AQUOS, >$400), plus there's a lot of other stuff competing for the money, too, e.g. the OPPO Blu-Ray player. [shrug] B5 scriptbooks are way down on the list. OTOH, new CRUSADE scriptbooks (What The Hell Happened 2, 3 & 4) would shoot to the top of the list.

Right now, if I want to watch DVDs, it's on my 15" laptop PC (which IS EXCELLENT.), and the 19" TV makes people look like this.

                      • Well, it's been quite a day. Having acquired Vol 2, I made an offer on Vols 11 & 12 from another eBay seller and got both for $25.

I also found a Volume 8 on UK Amazon for ú7.00. So, it's going well! I am fast accumulating script books

If anyone can hook me up with other volumes or sees them floating about online for a reasonable price, do let me know.

I'm a long time fan, and I only really became aware of the script books lately. I suppose I've never really delved that deeply into B5 fandom. I've always loved and enjoyed the show, but until now, I hadn't ventured much further than that.

I think this may be the case for many fans who weren't directly involved in the old discussions groups that JMS frequented. I suppose in these more challenging financial times, older fans may be selling their script books, or they just naturally end up in the second hand book market. A shame really, but nice for those of us who missed the boat the first time around.

I got started when script book #12 came out and I have not looked back. Also a long time fan, but only recently done more about B5 stuff.

                            • Just got my Vol. 8 Script book yesterday. Have to say, it's very cool. The foreword is fascinating and the bonus material (concept art in the back) is very nice to see. I had no idea that the show almost came to an end after Season 3. The work JMS put in to keep it afloat was nothing short of AMAZING. I'm suprised the guy's still sane!

Also, I find the structuring and writing process fascinating, so it's definitely of interest to see the scripts like this.

I just snagged a Vol. 5 on Amazon for GBP 14.99 + postage. It'll no doubt take me some time to find them all, but I like a challenge. Prices for whole collections are still a bit inflated when i see them, so I'll just grab separate volumes as and when I can.

If anyone has duplicates and want's to help out. PM me.

Who's to say he's sane now? And, given what he undertook back then, I think there is an argument to be made that he wasn't sane then.
