Aw, thanks. Sometimes I get a little worried because conversation will be rolling merrily along and when I come in and say 'According to the script...blah,blah, blah...', it seems like people stop talking.
Holy.... Thanks Jan. Now, how I do reverse closing my ebay account?
Gee, I don't know about reversing the closing. I'd just go ahead and reregister. I've opened different accounts (like the RBiggsMemorial one) and they don't give me any trouble. To open a seller account you need to have a credit card or bank account attached but I don't think that matters just for buying.
But if you don't want me to tell you... Yeah, that was me. The auction was in GBP but even with conversion and shipping it came out to less than $15. I actually have a shooting script but wanted this one because it's an earlier draft. Except for the bibles and treatment, I let my other Fan Club stuff go during a money crunch a while back and little by little I try to replace it.
Speaking of the B5 Magazine, this is probably something extremely obvious that I'm pointing out (if so, apologies) but there was also a B5 Magazine published here in the States by Sendai in 1995. Referred to as The Official Babylon 5 Collector's Magazine, they only put out one issue at $4.99. I found out about it very late in the process and most of the interviews were already done, but I managed to do a piece on Ron Thornton and the show's FX for that issue, which meant they sent me a couple of copies as well. I haven't seen much reference to this magazine over the years, so I was curious if the experts know whether or not it's hard to find.
I'm no expert, but I hang around Ebay a fair amount. I've seen the Collector's magazine a few times but not frequently. IIRC, one went for a fair amount ~ $18-20 the rest for under $10. For this item, I think how the ad is written would be important.
Sorry, couldn't resist. Thanks for the expert opinion, Jan. I remember when the magazine came out, I called the office to ask for a copy and they sent me a small pile of them. Wish I could figure out where I put them all!
From the looks of it, this is bootleg. It talks about the interactive guide to B5 which probably wouldn't really work on anybody's computer anymore. I wouldn't touch it without proof that it was licensed.
And speaking of which, I don't need to let people know that any bloopers you see are bootleg, do I? They are-every single one. They stem from an item stolen from JMS at a convention several years ago.
Jan
But Jan, jms doesn't get paid for any B5-sales anymore does he? So why should we be against the release of the illegal and inferior 'fan-stuff'? Why should we care? WB makes a bundle on B5 anyway...
Sorry ot. I will watch this thread as I plan to start collection scripts in the near future.
Better Watch Out Jan!

If there were properly licensed B5 stuff produced, I'm sure that JMS's original contract regarding payment would still be in force. As for the bootlegs, it's a matter for your own consience. Me, I know that the bloopers and music videos were made either as a gift for the cast and crew or were contracted by JMS to show at conventions as a gift to the fans and that the original tape was copied illegally from his at a convention. To me, it's not a matter of 'WB has made enough money', it's about not supporting lice who've stolen from somebody I respect and admire and who's given me no end of enjoyment in the universe he created. Same thing with bootlegs of Chris Franke's music. It's still for sale legally from Sonic Images so the only reason to buy bootlegs is to save money which cheats the creator.

Not a problem...As of Monday night, word is that *anybody* will be able to collect B5/JMS scripts soon. I'm perfectly content with that, we'll all be able to discuss the fine points together and race to find deleted scenes and dialog. Anyway, I still have a few gems that it's unlikely that anybody will be publishing.

If you find them, can I have/buy one? Autographed? I went looking for mine last night so I could read your article and couldn't find it.
