AOL Pulls Plug on Newsgroup Service

America Online has quietly announced that it will discontinue providing member access to Usenet newsgroups next month. In recent days, AOL subscribers who access keyword "Newsgroups" are greeted with a pop-up message informing them of the change: "Please Note: The AOL Newsgroup service will be discontinued in early 2005."

For what it's worth, the pop-ups actually just started well, popping up yesterday. There've been issues with AOL and their newsgroup 'service' for some time now and I'm doing most of my posting from Google. It's not something I'm happy about but can be worked around.

Or perhaps he is either too busy or under some constraint not to reveal to much information about TMOS at this time....
