Should we start a pool.
Jan flew home last night?
Jan will fly home today?
Jan will fly home tomorrow?
The other side of the coin is recovery time. It is amazing what being around thousands of people can take out of you.Susan Ivanova, "I'll be in the car."

Jan is flying home today! So who gets a no-prize?
Highlight of the show was definitely the Celebration of Harlan Ellison and his work. Many great stories and some tears shed. Also had a nice time visiting with Jason Davis before and after the panel.
This lovely print was given out to attendees.

Was it tough to get into the Celebration?
Was that the extent of you "panel" attendance?
I assume you did not run into any other B5 or JMS related stuff?
Did you run into any B5 Cosplay?
I ask these questions now, but I assume you will give us more of a run down after you've had time to recover.Susan Ivanova, "I'll be in the car."

I hope we can hear what's up for JMS and his fans soon. He's always up to something."Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact." - William James

WorldCon B5 Panel update
For the B5 panel at Worldcon, we do have a day and time for it, however, due to other issues with the programming it is being reworked. As far as I know, that shouldn't affect the panel, so once things get finalized, I'll post the details.
For more information about the Worldcon programming issues, here's a couple of links for more information.
When Worldcon 76 program participants were sent their schedules over the weekend such controversy resulted that the schedule was taken offline this morning, Chair Kevin Roche issued an apology, and…
In the past 24 hours, there’s been a significant online blowup surrounding the programming for Worldcon 76 and the convention’s treatment of marginalised creators, including those who a…

That's a shame. While I tend to think that some of the upset folks may be directing anger that's built up due to slights by others than WorldCon, I'm probably not qualified to have any opinion at all since any marginalization I've experienced is pretty minor (or mor likely, I just never noticed. I'm dense that way.).
Happy to hear that there's likely a Harlan Ellison panel there, too! Hoping it's while I'm there (and doesn't conflict with any Spider/B5 programming)."As empathy spreads, civilization spreads. As empathy contracts, civilization contracts...as we're seeing now.

Straczynski -> German -> San Diego
So I do something against "quiety".
What we did learn about JMS learning German and WRMiller realized the consequences to San Diego.
JMS tweet:
"1/ I actually took German 101 and Advanced simultaneously; so I can speak it a bit but have a hard time understanding sometimes because there are just too many words I don't know. But: funny story. I was in Berlin doing some work on a pre-Sense8 project and was in a meeting...
2/ ...with several Germans showing options on a particular aspect, and assuming -- not incorrectly -- that most Americans never bothered to learn another language, kept making little asides to each other about the "stupid Americans."
So at one point, after showing me a video...
3/ ..they'd made showcasing their work, I said "Noch einmal, bitte," meaning one more time, please. They reached for the video controls then froze, realizing I had understood most of what they'd said. Never saw two people looking more horrified than that day."
Mark Gilman re-tweet:
"Whats the story behind how you took German 101 and Advanced German at the same time? Why did you do it? How did you pull it off?"
JMS re-tweet:
"It was an experiment one year at San Diego State University to see how students would perform learning rudimentary and advanced German simultaneously. So we'd get basics at noon, then at two the instructor *only* spoke in German. Was nuts but it got my language requirements done."
WRMiller re-tweet:
"And then you vented your frustrations by blowing up San Diego in BABYLON 5. :P"
Funny

Oh soory, should've been adressed to the facebook/twitter thread...
