Possible SDCC and/or Worldcon Panel

They make it clear that you're only contacted if you get your panel, nothing otherwise. Still hoping! I'll admit that I'll be...slightly miffed...if I don't get it on top of them snubbing the 25th anniversary in the souvenir book!

Every year they have a souvenir book with special art and articles for select things that are celebrating key anniversaries. B5 was not included in the book. So while I know better, it'll still feel like an extra snub if I don't get the panel.

Yeah, I definitely didn't get SDCC but I'm still hopeful for WorldCon. Got my SDCC badge in today's mail, though. Love that they ship them ahead now!!

little to corporate for me now.

I went to my first in about 86/87 and then went again in 95 and then a few times to assist SG1 and another production and I found that it had change greatly--

it has come a long way and some would say not for the best--I may go in 2020 but it is no longer the same as it once was--I liked it when it was not so full of its self and I think a few others agree as NYCC and a few others have started eating away at its crown

I've been to SDCC once, 2000. I had a good time, but it was pretty overwhelming even back then. It was great because I got to meet four people from the B5 Universe including Richard Biggs, plus other actors I always wanted to meet. I missed JMS that year because he was only there Friday and I couldn't make it. I know now SDCC seems like WAY too much trouble. I've started going to a few Cons in the past five years and I'd have to say the smaller the better. Too many of them are too corporate now and the inflated expense has really taken the heart and soul out of them. On the flip-side I understand where the expense comes from. Overhead is ridiculous, but one must also consider making the Con appealing. Small Cons can be much more intimate, but they also have to come up with appealing guests and that is not easy without spending big bucks. The masses don't usually care about the guests I want to see, so it is tough to find a Con worth going to. Oddly enough I've met many of the B5 cast and JMS, but I still look for Cons where any B5 alums might be. Anyway I am rambling. In this instance I'd just like to be there to hang out with Jan, especially considering Pat Tallman might be there and she could join our party.

But it all goes back to Galveston - I want to do Galveston again!!!!! I also want more advance notice so I am better prepared. It all happened so fast. And this time I want to schedule it. I am still so mad I missed panels because they were scheduled at the same time.

BTW, is there any update on a 25th Anniversary Con?

Richard Biggs was great at conventions-I was shocked when he joined us after a Q and A in the bar. He was a friendly guy and I wish more actors who do conventions where as friendly as him. Some coneventions actors act like if you day hello they are expecting you to slip them a 20 for the privilege.

From my personal experience, Dylan Neal was SUPER nice to me. I had multiple conversations with him in at the Space City Con Reunion. He talked to me about "The Business" for over half an hour before returning to his table and then we talked again later. Biggs was also super nice at SDCC 2000, but there was a line so I couldn't sit there an chat. Biggs was with Marjorie Monaghan, Carrie Dobro, and Julie Caitlin Brown. I wanted to stay and hangout at their table, but there was a long line. They were all very nice, but Biggs tried to engage with me the most. Unfortunately he couldn't be rude and I had to move a long.

So now that this can of worms is open....

Furlan - Incredibly nice and far too brief an encounter.

Katsulas - He was very nice, but the line was so long it was sign the picture and move on.

Boxleitner - It didn't go well, but I don't blame him. He had a lot going on. It was sign the photo and move on. I didn't get to his table in Galveston, but his panels were a LOT of fun. He and Mira did a Lantern City panel in Chicago that was great and all the panels he was involved with in Galveston were fun.

Christian - I've met her the most and she has always been pretty decent, especially when I brought her my cardboard standee to sign. She really enjoyed that.

Koenig - We've had issues.

Jurasik - Incredibly nice and far too brief an encounter.

Furst - Incredibly nice and far too brief an encounter.

Mumy - Incredibly nice and far too brief an encounter.

Thompson - Very nice, but we just shared an elevator. She enjoyed my #FREEBABYLON5 shirt. Great panel discussion as well.

Tallman - Well the first time she jumped to the conclusion I was fat just from my appearance , but other than that she was very pleasant, all be it both times very distracted. The first time she was running Joe's Comics booth while Joe was signing for a huge line. In Galveston she was in some pain and more interested in the massage booth near her table than conversing with the fans at her table.

Scoggins - I only made it to her panel and not her table. Her panel was very interesting and intimate. She was great. I think she felt bad because, through no fault of her own, she was VERY late.

Marshall Teague - He is super friendly and a lot of fun at Cons. I've met him three times and each time has been a worthwhile experience.

Josh Cox now Coxx - He was very friendly. It helps if you know some of the other work they have done. Once I mentioned how great he was on the one episode of Revolution he was in we were fast friends. LOL But seriously, he was a great villain on that show and they should have established him as a series regular.

Maggie Eagan - Incredibly nice and far too brief an encounter.

Julie Caitlin Brown or Caitlin Brown or whatever she is calling herself these days - I am afraid of her.

Robin Atkin Downes - He seems very nice, but he probably isnt'. No I've only had brief encounters with him and he was very nice.

Gary Graham - Yes only a guest star, but I met him at a small Con in STL in 2016 and it was FANTASTIC!!!!! I loved Alien Nation and he was great in his episode of Crusade. I wish I could have found a decent pic for him to sign from Crusade, but alas there just wasn't anything. He is a prime example of the wonder of small Cons. I talked to him and Leslie Easterbrook for most of the day and they seemed grateful to have someone to talk to. And GREAT panels.

Jason Carter - Do I even have to say anything?! I think everyone knows that meeting Jason Carter would be / can be a real treat; fan-friggin-tastic. And I am certain he will meet with you anywhere you want to meet after the Con to keep discussing. And his love for Biggs really comes out in his stories.

Bill Blair - very brief meeting, but he was very pleasant and I'd like to meet him again. I'd love to be at a panel discussion and hear all of his B5 stories.

And that is all I can remember for now. I think that might be it for B5/Crusade though.

And there's some NICE restaurants near the convention center, too! We did have fun in Houston, didn't we?

I'll be leaving for the airport about a week and 3 hours from now. Only two 'must do' items on the list and that's dinner with a friend and the Ellison Celebration. Oh - and if I 'win' the autograph lottery, a signing with Neil Gaiman.

It is about time for Jan to head to San Diego so we should all wish her good luck. There may not be a panel devoted to B5, but I'm sure there will be some B5 fans in attendance and Jan will tell them all about us. We should all be making a list of catchy topics to start discussing in case any of them decided to look in on what Jan told them about. You know, so we look cool.
