Remember, kids, if you want to see *your* favorite B5 stars at your favorite convention, contact the con and ask for them! Have all your friends and neighbors ask for them!

And remember, the 25th anniversary is coming up so be sure to let them know about that, too.

(Tried looking for the book of essays mentioned in her blurb with no luck at all. The blurb seems to be from her website which has a copyright 2010 date.)

You know I was thinking about Mira's stint on Lost. Why isn't Mira in a new STAR WARS or STAR TREK movie Mr. Abrams?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Sorry, but I felt she didn't get the exposure she should have on Lost, so he should make it up to her.

I sooooo can't wait until I win the lottery so I can do all my traveling with Pat. And see, she mentioned getting to meet us is "a very fine thing." I could tell both times I met her that she was thrilled.

    Convention Appearance Updates

So I was thinking about how I REALLY want to go to Lexington Con this weekend in Lexington, Kentucky (March 10-12, 2017) http://lexingtoncomiccon.com/ because Bruce Boxleitner and Claudia Christian will be there, but I can't. Then Jan posted the "JMS at SDCC 2017" Thread and I thought we really should have a thread that just promotes and informs everyone about people from JMS' projects we want to see at Conventions - because Conventions are popping up everywhere. Yes, folks around here are usually pretty good at mentioning Con news when they hear it, but I thought it would be nice to have a specific thread with "Convention" and "Appearance" in the title that was easy to search.

Now I know Jan will always keep us informed of JMS' whereabouts in the Con circuit, but I think we should pick up some slack and try to keep tabs on everyone else related to B5, Sense 8, and any other JMS related project if we can. There are many good reasons for this, but I will say up front that this is completely self-serving. I HATE finding out at the last minute or after the fact that someone I really wanted to meet or re-meet was at a Con that wasn't too far away from me.

I know that there may not be too many folks around this forum who attend Cons often, but I started going again in 2013 and I am REALLY glad I did. It has been expensive so I've only been to a handful, but I've met many celebrities I always wanted to meet and, to be honest, one of the greatest reasons has been getting to meet other B5 fans in person. Because I've gotten back into Con going I met Jan and have spent time with her at 3 different Cons. It has been awesome. She is amazing to hang out with because we have soooooo much to talk about. She has so many great stories because, unlike me, she has always been ALL IN on B5 and JMS. Don't get me wrong, B5 has always been my favorite show, but I haven't put in a fraction of the effort Jan has. So spending time with her at three Cons has been an experience in and of itself.

Also because I went to Galveston for the Space City Con's Babylon 5 20TH Anniversary Celebration I met babylonlurker (Jan from Denmark.) He is an absolutely DELIGHTFUL man! I highly recommend meeting him if you are anywhere in Europe. You will not be disappointed. If he is going to be at a Con, like FedCon - one I know he is fond of, then you should make the trip if only to meet this wonderful Babylon 5 fan. Plus after you have met him your Con experience will be that much greater, just ask Marshall Teague.

And here is a little side note about Cons these days. The Cons I have attended in recent years have had fairly sizable crowds, however, they have also had sizable guest lists. Many people involved with B5 don't always have long lines of fans waiting to meet them. This means they sometimes have a little time to chat, except JMS. I can't imagine him having a short line at any Con after meeting him at C2E2 2013 and being, like, three hundred and forty seventh in line of a line that kept growing. But from my other experiences I can say that opportunities can present themselves. Not always, but sometimes. Bruce and Claudia will have lines this weekend, but they likely won't be too long and I am sure people will get a chance to talk to them a little as well as meet other B5 fans while in line. (I won't even look at the schedule because I am sure they are doing a B5 panel together and I think I am most upset about missing that. Especially since I'm sure they'll be sharing some great Jerry Doyle stories. )

Which brings me to another VERY positive point about attending Cons, Panel Discussions. Now I will be honest and tell you that not every Panel Discussion is great, but when they are good they are AWESOME. There are many different things that can make a Panel Discussion good or bad, but usually it is the crowd that does it. If the crowd is shy and doesn't have good questions then the Panel probably won't go well. If the audience is engaging then the person who is the focus of the discussion will be that much more entertaining to get to know.

And while I am on my soap box I will say that if it is in your financial means to attend a Con with guests from Babylon 5 then go. I know they greatly appreciate knowing the work they put into creating a character that was part of a wonderful story still has meaning to people twenty plus years later. Yeah they can get some of that on the internet, but it is different seeing those emotions on an actual person's face.

Okay I could ramble on and on, but the point is I am starting this thread so everyone can keep everyone else (ME ) informed of which Cons anyone involved with Babylon 5, including fans and board members, or anyone involved with Sense 8 or anything anyone likes that is some how connected back to J. Michael Straczynski will be attending. Like I said, Bruce and Claudia are supposed to be in Lexington, KY this weekend. Unfortunately I won't be there, but maybe someone reading this will be and can give us a report of how the trip goes and tell us about other fans they meet.
