Why No New B5 Novels/Stories - Probably Ever

In fact, Netflix has now financed multiple 'original content' films as well as serials. Just sayin!

Indeed - and that's a big IF, I'm afraid. The dratted man just insists on taking the work that pays well (or better than the niche publishing, anyway). As for the audio dramas...? I have no idea. I don't think he'd have even brought it up if he didn't think he could do them. For new ones, the folks in the UK who do the Doctor Who audio dramas did ask about a license and were told that none was available (heard from two different sources).

That's such a shame, because Dr. Who lived on in novels and audio dramas in a very healthy fashion before it was resurrected as a TV show. If only B5 could be wrestled from the cold dead hands of WB, we might have a hope in hell of new content. I still think that someone like Netflix could broker a deal if there was an appetite for B5 coming back to the small screen. Hell, something like the Lost Tales suddenly makes a whole lot more sense on a streaming service like Netflix.

The question comes up from time to time why JMS doesn't continue the Crusade story line in novels or other formats.

With the changes coming to the B5 Books folks, a fan asked JMS about them publishing new B5 books or stories (and how much a license would be). JMS replied:
