JMS at SDCC 2016

Finally announced it officially that JMS is a Special Guest at SDCC. As busy as he is these days, it's always in question.

And yes, I still take the chance and get tickets and plane and non-refundable hotel. I'd hate it if he didn't come but it would still be worth the trip.

No one quite understands why, but apparently J. Michael Straczynski has another hit TV show on his hands, the globe-spanning Sense8, now available on Netflix. In addition, he's working on a Red Mars series for Spike TV based on the novels by Kim Stanley Robinson, adapting [removed premature announcement], writing Flash Earth One for DC, finishing Dream Police for Image/Joe's Comics, and his seminal comics maxi-series Rising Stars has been optioned for a major motion picture, which he is also writing. Honestly, why hasn't this guy's career flamed out by now? Seriously, enough is enough.

Yay! Hope he answers with something concrete or specific. And not, "wouldn't you like to know." or "I can't tell you," or ,"Yes, I'd still like to do a movie sometime in 2029."

Well, whatever he says, I'll be there to pass the word back to y'all as soon as I can.

BUT! I really don't ever want to hear 'I wish he wouldn't say anything until....', either. We (in general) are the ones who ask him so it's not fair to get on his case (figuratively) when he gives answers based on his knowledge at that time. Sometimes I think some fans must live lives where nothing ever changes.

Oooohhhh...looks like there'll be at least one member of the Sense8 cast at SDCC!

I'm *really* hoping that JMS will have a Sense8 panel again this year. And would love it if Netflix allowed the cast to come, too.

I would love to be there for this! I think Claudia's books sounds really interesting. She did a great job on the B5 fanfic she wrote.

I really need to find the radio show she did with Pat Tallman, as well. Thanks for the reminder, Jan! "giggles"
