  • Jerry Doyle Mugged in Germany

Sorry to hear this! From what I saw a good time was had at the con so this was a bad ending.

Talk show host, actor, and EpicTimes founder Jerry Doyle was mugged recently while on a trip to Europe. Jerry had traveled to Dusseldorf, Germany in May for FedCon (a science fiction convention) to greet fans of his role as Michael Garibaldi on the series Babylon 5. EpicTimes editor Brad Silvers tells the story of how, staying in town for a few days to do some sightseeing after the convention, Jerry was attacked from behind in broad daylight, knocked unconscious, and required fifteen stitches on the back of his head. “He was robbed of everything – his wallet, his phone, his credit cards,” says Silvers. “[He] woke up some hours later in a hospital in Dusseldorf. Didn’t really know where he was, barely knew who he was.”

I'd like to think Jerry can just shake it off but this was pretty horrendous.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and return to his usual high spirits.

Being knocked unconscious for several hours can be a really serious thing. Unlike the TV shows and movies, that's not something one shakes off easily.

Yeah, that's pretty messed up. I think of Jerry as a badass from Brooklyn, but still, he's pushing 60. I hope he recovers fully and has no longterm ill effects.

Of course you're right about that.
I was referring to shaking-off the entire week-long ordeal he suffered.

Even with Jerry's success in talk radio, there has been little in the media about this, as pointed out here:

"Had this happened to Limbaugh or Hannity it would have no doubt been front page news but I wasn't able to turn up anything about it with a Google search."

Well Jerry back on the radio show, the story is reported by some patient at the hospital, and not Jerry himself? Seems very odd because that guy loves to talk. Hope he is doing well whatever happened.

This is horrible news. I hope that Jerry Doyle does not have any permanent problems as a result of the assault.

Unfortunately this happens a lot in Dusseldorf since it is a place where many wealthy people live but also many who are not as wealthy.
That said the same thing could have happened to him in any major US city, I daresay.
But that doesn't change the fact that this is very very sad...
                What's up Drakh?

Probably a drug addict, and I can't help seeing this as something that could have happened to Security Chief Garibaldi.

Sounds like there could be some nasty head trauma so he has my best wishes for a relaxing recovery.

"Take some time off Michael, the station will survive."

Edit: I see now I posted to an old thread, sorry!
