  • Slashdot - JMS Interview

Haven't seen this posted on the site yet.
Slashdot is collecting reader questions and will publish Joe's answers. Here's the call for questions: http://features.slashdot.org/story/1...-what-you-will

Thanks for pointing that out, Spelldazer. How does it work, do you know? Will Slashdot choose questions to send to JMS or will he just answer what he wants to in the threads?

Here's the link to the questions that JMS answered:

Last week you had the chance to ask J. Michael Straczynski (jms) about Babylon 5, his new original series, Sense8 , and all things sci-fi. Below you'll find his answers to your questions....

        QOTD? regarding netflix
"here's a buttload of money, go and have fun"

        made me smile, a lot.
"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Those actively involved in combat are almost always damaged goods for the rest of their lives. If their bodies don't bear scars, their minds do, ofttimes both. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

Glad to hear Netflix are just letting them get on with the series with a minimal amount of interference. Netflix (or a similar entity) financing shows is an extremely positive development in my book. If a show does the numbers (Arrested Development is a case in point), then it can be given a new lease of life via Netflix.

Equally so with original content, new SF by JMS and Wachowskis just seems like a win win situation.

Beyond excited to see the results.
Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

          Kosh: Good!
