  • Blasts from the Past

This might be fun. With twenty years of history, B5 has a lot of history both from the show side of things and from the fan side of things. For instance:

I was reminded today of a fun item from back in the days of the Usenet group Rec.Arts.SF.TV.Babylon 5 (yep, way back before the moderated group). Our own Dan Dassow teased JMS with a...song? Poem? Certainly a Filk:

Sung to the Mickey Mouse Club Theme -- 1950's Version
    Fanfare on trumpets:

    Male voices chanting:
    J M S Club, J M S Club, ...

    Chorus:
Who's the leader of the club
That's made for you and me?
    S-T-R A-C-Z Y-N-S-K-I
    J M S, ...
    Donald Duck:
    ... Theron F.
    J M S, ...
    Donald Duck:
    ... Theron F.
Forever let us hold our banners high,
    High, high, high.

Come along and sing a song,
    And join the jamboree.
    S-T-R A-C-Z Y-N-S-K-I

Hey there, ho there, hi there
You're as welcome as can be.
    S-T-R A-C-Z Y-N-S-K-I

    Chorus chanting:
    Yeah, J M!
    Yeah, J M!
    Yeah, J M S Club!

I'm not sure but I think Dan may still be watching over his shoulder for the Narn Bat Squad sent by JMS.

So I thought it might be fun to ressurect some of the fun stuff from the past. If you've got favorite tales, please tell or link to them. Funny, dramatic, touching...anything is fair game.

    Theron F.

Now there's a name I've not heard for a long time.

"That was the law, as set down by Valen. Three castes: worker, religious, warrior."

The NBS have been my constant companion since that fateful post.

You're going to hell for that, you know that, don't you?

Considering this is not the worst thing I've done to Joe, I am still alive and kicking.

There is a strong probability that if I ever meet Joe face-to-face, the Universe will implode.

So....you going to join the party in Phoenix on Memorial Day weekend? I'm sure it'll be time for yet another apocalypse...

Methinks, the wiser and more prudent course of action would be to send my emissary, AKA Jan-MS, in my place with an appropriate peace offering. Possible peace offerings include a recording of the JMS Club Theme sung by the Narn Bat Squad Chorus; the complete collection of Chrysalis music written in calligraphy and autographed by the author; and a video of a performance of JMSÆs Snow White performed by charter members of the Church of Joe.

Actually, I do have a more suitable peace offering in mind. However, I have to complete it first.

Okay, folks, you're all my witnesses. This may not look like it but Dan's obviously decided that he wants me dead. With all of those 'offerings', I don't think even hiding behind Pat could save me!

You should come. There may not be another chance for a Gathering like this ever again.
