If it is an illustrated novel, they really need to get their terminology straight!

Anyhow, I realise I'm being a bit pedantic. I do hope the book fulfills your expectations Looney. I just wish they'd be a bit more specific about what it is fans are laying down money for!

I was told updates were coming that included some previews of what to expect from the artwork. They also mentioned at C2E2, and I hear they said this in Phoenix as well, that there would be more coming out leading up to San Diego. One of the promotional ideas was the release of some audio files that contained Bruce reading passages from Rise. I think this was actually an idea a fan brought up at C2E2 and the panel liked. I hope they go with it and start really putting out more info. Their site seems really dead. The forum over there had a lot of people posting in the Steampunk area, but it has really died down. I don't know much about Steampunk, but people have posted pics of a lot of stuff they've made and I think it is really interesting how creative they are. A couple of times I have just signed in over there just to look through all of the pictures of what people have come up with. The folks running the site would be a lot better off if they were as willing to put stuff up. I mean, any kind of updates would keep people talking. Is Rise printing now? Is Bruce done filmming? They haven't even posted pics from any of their recent con visits on the Lantern CityTV site. They are posting stuff on Facebook and as you know YouTube, but it seems like they don't really care about the website anymore.

This photo definitely makes it look interesting. Very pretty.

Yep. The update on their website and Facebook is that RISE will be 124 pages with 26 full page illustrations.

If you have pre-ordered RISE and you are going to be in San Diego for the con then you should stop over in the LanternCityTV.com forum and look for a recent posting by one of the creators of the show under the topic I started about RISE. You can thank me later.

As a public service to those who don't want to register in order to read it ( ), here's what Trevor Crafts posted:

If you are coming to SDCC and you have a pre order, yes we can give you all of your goodies and the signed book. Please private message me your order details, we have everyone in our system. We can refund your shipping cost at the show.

                Thanks

I don't remember ever seeing where you had to register just to read. To post, yeah, but read?

Yeah, I blew that. I should have posted the info myself. I find it annoying as well. I wonder if it helps them keep the spammers out? They do have a counter that claims to track the spammers they have rejected. . . Me not NO technolegy to good so me not no how it work.

                        Update

So, I have received no notification, but RISE did start shipping July 19th as planned. At least two users over on the LanternCityTV forum have confirmed receiving their copies and goodies. There is a lot of activity on the Lantern City Facebook page including the announcement that you can now get RISE through Amazon.com.

I'm still waiting on my copy. I hope i do get it. Ever since the move my mail has been wonko and the post office isn't helpful. I did give them this address though, and my newest stalker found me, so.... "crossing everything"....

It might make you feel better to know that I received mine Tuesday, but have not been able to really look at it yet. The good news is that yours is on the way. I think you said your pre-order number was after mine, so they might be going in order and your package of goodies will arrive soon. I really like that the pin they sent is different from the pin I received at C2E2. And I remember you were disappointed you didn't get the app, but it isn't ready anyway. They just sent a notice that they are still working on it.

                              All looks good.
                              Now I need even more time . . .

Got my copy day Praise Valen!!!!

I am now officially a citizen. Soo excited, and yes the pins are adorable!!!!

I never got to be a part of the B5 stuff before the show, so I"m excited to get in on LC from the ground floor.

The book is awesome. I'm really glad it was an illustrated novel and not a graphic novel. There was more story than pictures. The illustrations are beautiful and do add to the story, but the story could still have been told without them.

                                That's my thing, I'm a word girl.

The story reminded me of a much better told version of Revolution.
