Nothing there other than signing up for the email newsletter but I'll be interested to see what might develop.

Saw Bruce briefly at an autograph session at the con. He's very excited about bringing this project to life and made a point of saying how much he'd learned from JMS during his time on B5 (as well as from all the other shows he's been on. Bruce will be producing it, not starring, though he might appear.

Bruce mentioned Lantern City in his DragonCon panel with Mira after mentioning that he and Mira needed to work together again, so maybe just maybe we may see the two of them acting together in some capacity on the show!!!!

I hope, I hope, I hope *squees hopefully*

I wrote up a post to get others excited about the show as well, because regardless of whether Mira will be involved or not it sounds quite epic. Too soon to tell whether or not it could ever slip into eptacular territory, but I see the potential.

This looks very promising! I for one will be intrigued to see more straight to web TV shows cropping up. It's a model that puts the power in the hands of fans and creators, which I wholeheartedly approve of! Given the kind of cash that can be generated via crowd funding these days, it's a highly viable route.

In a similar vein, I'm very much looking forward to Joss Whedon and Warren Ellis' 'Wastelanders', whenever that gets going. With those two names behind it, and the kind of online fan bases they command, I think it could be the big push straight to web TV needs.

Direct to web is the way to go I think. if JMS could have put Crusade directly to the web he could have done what he wanted with it, and we could have gotten a full series. With the web there are no evil and stupid network executives to ruin your show. They need to reboot firefly on the web as well. I'm surprised Joss hasn't thought of that. I know he would have no trouble with a firefly kickstarter campaign, though he would likely have to entirely recast and start over since most of the stars are busy elsewhere, and maybe fans wouldn't like it with a different cast? Though I did love Dr. Horrible, so will be looking now for his newest show. Am not familiar with this Eli guy, I don't think.

Shall I take it then that you didn't hear the Firefly news that came out of Comic-con this summer?

The news that came out of SDCC was the Science Channel is doing a reunion documentary that will air in November. They are doing a TV movie with the original cast. If that movie is successful, they are rebooting the series, starting from scratch, with the original cast.

I thought it was officially confirmed that this was a joke. On the panel they'd mentioned in jest that Firefly would return. That off the cuff comment then snowballed and got way out of hand online due to over eager fans. I think there's to be some kind of documentary about the reunion of the cast at SDCC but nothing more.

As far as I know, the notion of more Firefly was strongly refuted by Joss after the panel. I could be wrong, but that was my understanding. I really doubt we'll see any new Firefly any time soon. I loved the show too. It was our last best hope for good new Sci-Fi.

Rushing to press with an unsubstantiated story, no confirmation from an additional source and no tape backup; yeah, there's real top-quality journalist for you!

Ah well. I was really excited at first, but then I tried googling and couldn't find anything much, and there was not talk on IMDB, so then I got less excited. Then my bfff told me there had been firefly reboot rumours for years. It would have been nice though!

Hopefully Lantern City will make it, and will help to fill in a bit of the void. LC is newest hope right now.
