  • Walter Koenig at FedCon 2012

Looks like I will get a chance to say hello to Mr. Bester next year

Walter Koenig is (at the moment) confirmed as a Guest at Fedcon XXI in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The con will be at 17th to 20th May.

    Looking forward.

Edit : Jan, if you think it should be moved, no problem .

Meet him in Philly a few years ago. Great guy and easy to talk. Even took a picture with me.

That would be awesome! A couple of B5 fans from Moscow are coming along, but apart from them i really dont know anyone.

Though I am nor sure I saw Alex, I am just back from the Fedcon this year.

Fedcon is quite different from the more literature oriented con's I have been going to - more noisy and a lot more people dressed up.

Walter Koenig looks amazingly old now (looks like he has had a minor stroke), but he was a solid presence - and it is clear to me that he very much likes his role as Bester in B5.

<joking> he *must* be a real telepath - at both sessions he answered my questions before I had the opportunity to say then aloud </joking>

When I get some pictures sorted out I will post them.

Bought a large poster of the B5 crew - signed by 18 people - and an unsigned one called "War Without End" with several different B5 ships - not signed, so there is a project to last a lifetime.

Got the second one (and my vol.7 of the script books) signed by Walter and by Erick Avari who played the Rabbi in "The Rock Cried Out . . ."

and the second poster also signed by Ricco Ross who played a captain on one of the EA ships in support of B5.

3 signatures - not bad for a show that has been off the air for more than 10 years . . .

Thanks for the report back, babylonlurker! Are the posters you bought from Lightspeed Fine Arts? I remember them doing a litho called 'War Without End'. They have some beautiful work.

I'm not surprised Walter's looking older, given the major sorrow he had not long ago with the suicide of his son. I'm very glad that he's getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later this year.

              Thanks again,

Thanks Jan, for that sad info - I did not know that .

Yes - the posters are indeed from Lightspeed - and, as you say - they are beautiful works.

BTW there was a third one with the station and a Narn ship that I found there as well. All in about 2x3ft size.

                - as a last comment, I took some pictures of his "panels" a one-man-panel and one with Garrett Wang. Just thought I had got a rellay good pic of Walter , but when I looked someone was passing right in front of him at the crucial moment. Just hope I got some pics almost as good.
I will post some when I have looked through them.
