Not strictly JMS, but related. In honor of the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, Marvel has done a follow-up to the Amazing Spider-Man issue done by JMS and John Romita Jr. - this time written by Joe Quesada but still illustrated by JRJR.. This issue is free and ASM #36 is $1.99:

Wow, that gets my hopes up that new B5 thing is actually TV. I strongly suspected a radio drama.

Yes, for those who attended last night's video event, JMS did say that he's got two B5 things in the works but that he's contractually not allowed to say anything about them as yet. There should be a replay available soon and I'll post that when I see it.

JMS posted a link to a podcast this morning where he talks about 'Becoming a Writer' that I've linked in the Books section. But he also mentions that:

    - He's finished his next novel and turned it in to Simon & Schuster
    - He's got a movie due to shoot next year (possibly the long-awated 'The Flickering Light'?)
    - He's currently writing a pilot
    - He's also currently writing a mini-series.

So - just a normal workload, right?

Yay! Glad it worked out. I'm getting the individual issues on Comixology and when they're collected, I'll get that. My favorite comic shop closed a couple of years ago and the only other one close by made it clear that the owner Seriously Disliked All Things JMS (???) so I had to find a different way.

A particularly fun series of tweets from JMS the last two nights:

    J. Michael Straczynski

True aside: I've been playing text-and-phone tag with Peter Jurasik the last few days. Went to text AROUND IF YOU ARE and before hitting SEND saw that autocorrect had changed it to AROUSED IF YOU ARE. Quickly edited it. Not sure what he would've made of that.

Finally connected with Peter today, and when I told him about the around/aroused near catastrophe, he started laughing so hard I thought he'd have an aneurysm on the spot. Good chat.

Re: the "aroused if you are" near-typo PJ: "Of course, Joe, always, especially when you call, but I appreciate you asking, that's what friends are for." JMS: "Well, I like to stay on top of these things." (Five seconds later realizing what I'd just said) "Lemme reel that back..."
    Oh...myyyy....
