  • JMS on Twitter

    Found on JMS' Facebook page:

To prevent impersonator tweets (or twits) of which there have been several, I've nabbed the twitter name THEstraczynski (as opposed to a straczynski or just some straczynski). I don't know if I'll ever use the damn thing, or if I'll turn into one of those tweetaholics blatting out ephemera every ten minutes, so there likely won't be much content...but I figured I'd let folks know to preclude further imposters.

If there's any sure sign of the coming apocalypse, it's me signing on to freaking Twitter.

Can't imagine what of. Remember, according to some, judgment day is supposed to be this coming Saturday.

      Earthquakes? Check.
      (brush)Fires? Check.
      Floods? Check.
      Locusts? Check.
      JMS on Twitter? Check.

We're doomed. And judgment day is even on a Saturday. Couldn't they do it on a weekday so we'd have an excuse to miss work?!

It would have been interesting if jms had a twitter account when he was at Cannes for Changeling.

As of last night, he's dropped the THE so if you want to follow him, it's @straczynski.

He posted some fun alternate dictionary definitions last night.

ETA: Looks like several of his Twilight Zone episodes are going to be running on the Chiller channel this coming week.

Well, I sure hope someone keeps us updated with his Twitter stuff. It's bad enough I'm on FB, I refuse to Twitter! I'm standing my ground on this one, no matter how tempting my favorite writers make it!!!!!

I heard JMS is going to release tidbits about the scriptbooks through his Twitter account.

Oh, Omaha! That was mean! Be nice to our household goddess of anxiousness.

(There would have been more eeks, but I am limited to 15 images, apparently. Just picture me still doing the Macauley Culkin scream. Or better yet, the evocative Edvard Munch painting!)

Karen, Karen, Karen...have I or the rest of the gang here ever failed you before? If there's news, you can be sure that one of us will get it posted as soon as possible both here in the forums and on the top of the archive page. Promise.

Though I have to admit that the fractured dictionary definitions JMS posted last night were fun.

I don't suppose it would be possible to have a Twitter thread? Or would that be too much?

You mean in order to copy JMS' tweets into? Let's wait and see how active he is first. DougO is working on a way to manually add JMS's Facebook posts to the archives. Maybe we can do the same for tweets.

                          Meanwhile...

Acquaintance - A dear, close friend who is being audited by the IRS.

Ache - The currency of the physican, who replaces a natural one with an unnatural one and then charges for his services.

                          Accomplice - See "Vice President"

Applause - In Hollywood, the clapping together of hands that would much rather be meshed around the subject's throat.

Abdicate - The public-spirited decision of a ruler when faced with a machine gun.

Mark Evanier has a box on his blog that automatically posts his tweets. Maybe something like that? Great definitions by the way.

Yeah those widgets are fairly simple to put into websites, but it only shows the most recent few (generally) it doesn't give a complete archive, which is more what JMS News tries to do. At least that's what I think they try to do. That widget box might be a good thing to have anyway.
