Claudia Christian and Jason Carter will both be at DragonCon this year. This should be fun.

I wish I was goingWell thank you, Mr. Garibaldi, one of the leading minds of the 14th century. "Have we no workhouses? Have we no prisons?" Mr. Marley here'd like to have a word with you! He's the fellow in the chains! Ignore the moans, it's just gas! - Marcus Cole

The Pocket Program is now (finally, over a week late!) online.
You know how every year, there's several times you have to pick and choose between your most favorite of favorites?
Friday, 4 pm ... Guests of Babylon 5 (Claudia Christian and Jason Carter)

Jason came up from the back of the audience, and started taking pictures. He was leaning down on one knee, acting like he was a fan. She introduced him, everyone cheered, and he came up on the stage with her. They answered questions together, with a bit of friendly bantering back and forth.
A few minutes into this, she asked why he was there, as she was supposed to have a half hour, then he was going to have a half hour to himself. Sorry, the program was about Susan and Marcus together. I don't recall ANY panel being a half hour long, at Dragon*Con.
Anyway, right at the halfway mark, she upped the bantering, then he asked her about the Playboy spread. She put the microphone down on the table, walked off the stage, waved at the audience and left, along with a guy (her boyfriend?) and Holly (her assistant - who I've always found to be incredibly sweet).
Jason carried on for the remaining time, answering questions, singing, and didn't seem the least bit troubled by his co-star walking off the stage. I would think he would have at least glanced over or showed a little concern ... if it was legit.
I posted a message on her facebook, asking what had just happened. I tried to find out the facts before saying anything about it. She says (and has continued to say over the last week) that Jason was being rude (he wasn't), sexist (again, he wasn't), and was taking time away from her. Well, it was an hour for two people, not a half hour for each.
It appeared - to me - that the whole thing was staged. That it happened right at the halfway mark was convenient. It seems like something they had arranged ahead of time, to get her out of the convention early. In no way did she appear "hurt" or anything of the sort. She was smirking when she walked out the door (the door was behind and to the right of the stage, and I could see it clearly from my seat).
Did she walk off the stage? Yes, absolutely. Was it "real?" I still don't know.
The only two who do know are Jason and Claudia. He's not talking. And she ...
I don't know. After Denise Crosby also walked off the stage at the same convention (this one, after ribbing by Jon Frakes), it was extremely coincidental that Claudia then did the same thing.

(Omaha, I don't know how I missed you at the con. We'll have to exchange #'s next year.)
Omaha's description is spot on. My guess is she was catching an early flight. She didn't seem angry or hurt, she just had to go.
As far as ribbing each other, during the first panel they were both laying it on pretty hard without any apparent ruffled feathers.
I do know Claudia was rightfully upset that they didn't run her trailer during the first panel, after being promised they would, as well as the fact that no moderator/host showed up for the second panel probably contributed to the early departure.
I do wonder if walking off in such a manner excuses them from some contractual obligation to the con? What a wonderful world you live in. -
