  • Old JMS Articles?

Has anyone ever tried to track down the articles that Joe wrote long ago? Stuff like the articles on Rod Serling's Night Gallery that appeared in Twilight Zone Magazine or articles that he wrote for Writer's Digest? Wondering if there's a list somewhere with the articles, what publication they appeared in, and what date they might have been published. Not needed for any particular project here, just a question of curiosity.

Not that I know of. I think some of his columns from a couple of years ago are still available online but the name escapes me and I can't access the bookmark I've got 'cause my main computer is currently dead. I'll try to remember to look it up. I think the column was called 'Letters from the Edge'.

      Writer's Digest

I read all of Joe's (and later Larry DiTillio's) Writer's Digest articles when I was in college. i don't recall precisely which issues they were in, but I do remember that they appeared in every other month. Joe's started somewhere around 1982 and ran to circa 1993 (presumably, B5 got in the way). Then, Larry took over the slot for another few years.

A lot of JMS's Twilight Zone columns were co-written with Kathryn Drennan, weren't they?

He definitely wrote articles on Night Gallery with Kathryn. I seem to recall seeing her name on a few Starlog bylines as well, unless I'm very much mistaken.

I think JoeD80 is just subtly hinting for a book of collected works.

Has anyone ever come across an inventory of Joe's journalism? I've read a lot of the stuff from Writer's Digest and The Twilight Zone Magazine, but he always mentions writing for People and other publications in the early '80s. It would be interesting to excavate more of Joe the Journalist.

Sorry for quoting Gary for no obvious reason in my previous comment. I originally intended to write one thing and ended up with something else...

The original thought: A collection of Joe's non-fiction would be very interesting.
