  • B5 Election Materials

With the US election coming up in just two weeks, I'm curious whether anyone else is planning to wear their B5 election pins out when they vote?

I'll be there, with G'Kar and Londo egging me on to vote the way they want.

    Anyone else?

I don't have any pins but I may be able to find a reason to carry my Zathras/Zathras '08 tote bag, especially to the Vulkon I'm going to the weekend of the 1st. Peter Jurasik, Stephen Furst, Bill Mumy & Julie Caitlyn Brown are supposed to be there.

I wore two buttons, the Londo/G'Kar 2008 button, and the Stitch For President button.

The election woman tried to confiscate them, saying I was breaking federal law by having campaign buttons within 51 feet of the election place. I asked her to look closely at the buttons and tell me how they could possibly influence anyone, since they're fictional characters.

      This was her reaction ...

"Lan ... Lan ... Lando? Hey (to the woman next to her) that's Star Wars, right? Oh, Lando, so you're like a Star Wars ner, uh, fan."

I nodded "Sure". Then she looks at the blue guy in the other one.

"Blue, stitch, oh, I get it. You're a knitter."

"Yes, ma'am. I'm a Star Wars fan who knits. Can I vote now?"

I was the very first person in line to vote in my district, and there was a line of several hundred people behind me waiting to vote. I thought trying to educate her about Babylon 5 would do more harm than good, at that moment.

I just wish the joe store reopened.

I really wanted to buy a few yard signs and buttons, but it's still not online, and now its too late.

Yeah, well, the rent is cheap, the pay is decent and I get to make my own hours.

I didn't wear any election gear to vote since I voted Absentee but I did take my Zathras/Zathras bag to the con this weekend and got some good comments on it.

I agree that you did the right thing not trying to educate the poll worker, Omaha. It would just waste the time of the people behind you. I did the same when the DMV wanted to know what my 'ISIL ZHA' plate meant. I just wrote that it was a Science Fiction term.

Why didn't you write to the Scripts Team? Bet they'd've helped you out.

You're right. They do always go out of their way to help. I assumed they were print on demand items, and since the store was changing, that those items were no longer available.

I'll have to put more faith in the Scripts Team.

Wow! I should have voted for Jaqulyn for president. She would have fixed the country in no time. We would have gotten an e-mail right after inauguration outlining what she would do and then she would do it!

Darn. I missed the boat on that one.....
