  • JMS - How much?

    It all seems to fit.

Telling large corporate entities, his way or the highway.

How much did he sell his soul to the devil for?

Yeah, well, the rent is cheap, the pay is decent and I get to make my own hours.

jms would think of something more interesting for that deal:

Our offices were located near this place that made broasted chicken, which was itself directly behind, and just upwind, of an apartment building. I used to pass by this place every day, thinking about the poor people on the chicken side of the apartment building, where the smell from chickens broasting wafted in every day, day after day, seven days a week...and it was *strong* stuff, let me tell you...which led me to the notion of a guy who lived in just such an apartment, who is gradually driven stark, staring mad by it, and makes a deal with the Devil to sell his soul in exchange for getting rid of all the chickens in the world.

At least we know how he answered Morden's question.

          Broasting

          Hi,

not here that cooking term before - anyway the smell of cooking chickens might be better that other alternatives. Lived in a hotel in a country town in Germany for about 2 months once after starting a new job and the Euro HQ of the company I worked at for 3 years was in an even smaller town - we had had the delightful scent of pig manure and cow manure sprayed on fields or wafting from stalls on a regular basis. Hehehehehe - got to love the country.

Anyway can someone please tell me what broasting is? is it a cross between broil and roast?

          Thank you

          kind regards

            Found this:

"Broasting" is a trademarked term for frying chicken, potatoes, and other food in a pressure cooker using equipment and ingredients obtained under license from the Broaster Company of Beloit, Wisconsin. More broadly speaking, pressure frying is a technique for frying foods in oil under pressure, which is intended to seal the surface of the food and hold in its natural moisture while producing a crisp exterior.
It sounds somewhat like the way KFC does their chicken.

              Thanks

              Thank you Jan,

pleased that is solved - I have been accused of having a food obsession - so I need to know everything there is in possible experiences I need to try. Growing up in OZ I had KFC, liked it better when the Colonel had control. Here in Vienna I have found 2 but I am yet to take that adventure.

Please to meet you as well.

              Kind regards

I love the smell of cooking chicken, but indeed, it would get to me after a while.

Of course, for the last six years I have worked in a library in a building with different floors and parcels rented out to different companies. Directly above me is a caterer that cooks their own food. On any given day I can smell something tasty wafting down. Steak, pasta, chicken, rich pastries, what-have you.

Now, I'm on a diet, plus I'm a diabetic. It really can be maddening at times.

I might just sell MY soul, to be able to eat anything I wanted without any negative consequences, like I could when I was a kid.
