    Aaaarrrrggghhh!

Thankfully, I doubt it. Of all the films that don't need remaking, that's pretty high up. I suppose big fans of the book might want to see a 'better' adaptation of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, but it's far from my favourite Philip K. Dick so I'm not really among them. Not sure I see JMS and Dick as a good 'fit' either.

Is this a screenplay that the Brothers W have had laying about? If so, then it could be their old PLASTIC MAN script.

      5) just closed the deal on another assignment which is based on a very influential series of SF books

      This is surely LENSMEN, right?

      6) have one more deal to write a remake of a nearly legendary SF movie that will close in a few days

METROPOLIS? FORBIDDEN PLANET? BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS? (Ok, kidding about that last one...)
Frulad is mostly right on these. I'm not sure about the W brothers one though...could be Plastic Man could be Ninja Assasin...then again, could be something we haven't heard about. I think it's cool that he's working with them, though. Their visual approach to filmmaking is some of the most dynamic in the biz.

      Lensman...definitely.

As for #6, I have to certainly agree with Frulad as my guess from the start was Forbidden Planet. It's been on and off again for years and I think JMS would be the one to write one hell of a script! They would only need to get a truly visionary director IMO.

      And Frulad...BBTS...that's funny!

I'm also very curious about the 2 new and original scripts (and the one that's going out in May). Also interested in what he's doing with Peterson. He calls it a project not a film...could be a series, but I'm going to guess it's a feature.

All in all some excellent news! Hopefully he'll have those further announcements in a couple of weeks like he said. Sounds like the Great Maker is busy doing what he does best...making.

I would like to hear something about TLT. He might not write it himself, he did say that...and I know he wouldn't direct it, so if WB wants to move forward, I'm sure he can work it in. And considering his own rising star right now and how big he's becoming...one would think WB would be trying to get him to work with them as much as possible.

Just wait til he wins the Oscar for Changeling...then WB will be beating down his door for more B5.

JMS's rising star is gonna cost them big-time, though. And given that WB likes to budget two cheese sandwiches and used string for B5...

        Let's hope.

You see, my worry would be that when he wins awards for Changeling (or 'if', to be more cautious ), they won't be beating his door down for B5 but for more heavy-hitting drama film projects. Now, I'll happily give any of those that JMS writes a watch, but my primary interest is always going to be in seeing more SF genre stuff, and specifically some more B5, from him. I'm just not convinced success in other areas will necessarily translate to increased studio support/interest in the area that I'm personally most bothered about. Having said that, there's the WWZ and Silver Surfer stuff, not to mention these secret SF projects he keeps mentioning.

But mostly I'm just pleased for JMS, looking forward to seeing whatever he writes, and optimistic about more B5.

They will probably spring for jms, but here come the sock puppets again!

IMDB has it as Ninja Assassin

I thought it looked more like a cross between male danglies and the internal equivalent in ladies, though it does look a bit like a snail too.

I guess my mind is a little differently warped than yours.

But at least we have the warp factor in common.

It was reused in Space Raiders, too. Love that ship...it does conjure ...well...obscene images.
