More accurately, the site on which these files were placed, seems to have been cleared out. I'm glad I ignored Nikki's admonition about not getting on the site right away and did; guess my instincts were correct.
Apparently there's a website that allows people to view those black list scripts (including JMS's World War Z). Go onto www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com and she provides a link, if it hasn't been taken down already. It's a rare chance to see some really fascinating scripts.
No, not a blacklist, the Black List is a list compiled from the suggestions of over 150 film executives and high-level assistants, each of whom contributed the names of up to 10 of their favorite scripts. JMS' script 'World War Z' got 5 mentions.
According to Colleen Doran's blog, this is the second year in a row that JMS has been on the list. Last year he made it with 'The Changeling'.

Although the article is mostly about the depressing thought of more "reality" television programs and films, it has this interesting quotation:
Two screenplays near the top of the 2006 Black List -- Matt Carnahan's "State of Play" and J. Michael Straczynski's "The Changeling" -- should be major award contenders in 2008. Director Clint Eastwood is shooting the haunting "Changeling" now, and "State of Play" was recently thrown into and back out of limbo after star Brad Pitt ejected last minute over issues with the script, which had been reworked by Morgan, Billy Ray and Tony Gilroy (Pitt apparently was a fan of the Carnahan version). And Russell Crowe has since stepped into the role that was to be Pitt's.
Hey! You go clean that up! Here I am, trying to keep a nice, neat forum here and you got splattering all sorts of...of...STUFF all over the place. Eeew! I think you got some on my monitor!
