  • Eastwood to direct Jolie in "Changeling"?

On March 9th, Variety is reporting that Clint Eastwood is looking to direct JMS' "Changeling", with Angelina Jolie in talks to play the female lead.

I have no idea how accurate the story is, but they claim production may start later this year.

Well, Variety is a big name in entertainment news and this is definitely a front-page story on their site so I don't see any reason to doubt it.

Wow. Just...wow. To think we knew JMS when he wrote this little show called B5 and now he rubs shoulders with Hollywood royalty.

Almost anything that Eastwood is associated with is going to be good if not excellent. As for Jolie, at least she is easy on the eyes.

I'm so glad that JMS is getting the spotlight. Jolie and Eastwood have both won Oscars, maybe there will be another one to make it three! (Or maybe I'm just being too hopeful, not about JMS' writing, but about the Oscar process). I know, Waaay too early for that, but a girl can dream about a writer she really enjoys!

You know ... there are several ways to read that sentence.

LOL! You know, I thought the same thing as I was writing that, but it was early and I hadn't had my coffee yet so I just left it.

On the plus side, Eastwood is well known for getting his projects done, quickly and the way he wants to do them. If he can just get Jolie to take a break from trying to create a matched set of United Nations babies, maybe they'll be able to get the project off the ground.

                  This is exciting news.

I've been following Eastwood's directorial career as it's been blossoming the past decade or so and this just has me stoked!

I suspect that Angelina Jolie is the wrong actress for the part. The mother who rescues her child would fit la Jolie but not the mother who cries over her child. I hope her acting abilities can stretch that far.

Eastwood would be great to direct, and if Jolie passes, he will certainly be able to pick and choose from the cream of the Hollywood crop. I will really be looking forward to this.

I wonder if JMS will do much posting about how the final film compares to his original script. The changes that occur during a project like this always fascinate me and JMS is one of the best at explaining what happened and why.

I am not a big fan of Jolie, but she can be a very good actress at times, and as far as being emotional on screen and believable, just check out the movie that she one an oscar for. The movie is Girl, Interrupted

I'm simply overjoyed that that the Holly-folk are finally starting to realize what we've known for a long time...JMS is one of the best writers in the biz. He was even listed as such a few years ago, but no one took him seriously...until now.

Kudos to JMS!!! Just think, with Eastwood and Jolie involved, we know for sure that JMS will get to go to the Oscars next year. Wonder if he's ever been. I am green with envy and blue with glee (from not breathing properly in my excitement... ) Anywho!

                              Rock on, Mr. Straczynski!
