EXCLUSIVE: MPI Original Films has acquired film and TV rights to William Forstchen’s bestselling John Matherson Trilogy, consisting of the books One Second After, One Year After and The Final Day, for series development with Michael J. Straczynski attached to write the pilot. MPI will co-produce with Vince Gerardis’ Startling Inc. (Game of Thrones).

The potential series is described as an emotionally poignant and terrifyingly real story of America’s immediate and devastating return to a pre-technological dark age in the wake of a terrorist attack.

B5 Guest Star Josh Coxx had a great appearance in the Season One episode THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE. He definitely should have become a recurring character.

I just finished reading, well listening to the audiobook of one second after. I can understand why Joe would take this on as he likes seeing the aftermath and rebuilding from a war. I found the book a bit predictable and somewhat jingoistic it' definitely tends to the dark a few times while still remaining hopeful. I haven't read the last two books in the trilogy yet, and I'm not sure I will.

I know based on what we've been living through these past few years, Joe can certainly update how people will react in a major crisis, though the author got a lot right even though it was written 11 years before the pandemic.

I've got it on my Kindle but I haven't read it yet. I've been on an 'old friends' book kick lately. Thanks for the input.
