  • JMS cancels con appearances

Just saw this posted on the moderated group:

    Title: Conventions on Hold

Tonight I sent this note to all parties with whom discussions are or
have taken place concerning convention appearances through the rest of
    the year.

With regrets to all concerned, the crush of work has left me no choice
but to cancel all convention plans through at least February '07, and
potentially beyond that. This is something I have been agonizing over
for some time, but recent events have left no room for maneuvering.

My sincere and profound apologies to all concerned. I hope you will
understand that this was not a decision made lightly, and it is my hope
that we can reconvene in the future.

    With regrets --

It's a shame but I'm not at all surprised, given the hints on what he's got on his plate right now.

I'm surprised he even has time to eat and I'm just looking at the things that he has announced.

remember JMS is a night person, As a writer, producer, director, etc, Working at night lets you work on a project with less destractions. So to me while it does seem like alot to me doing I think JMS can handle it. And form what I can tell JMS would explode if he stopped working and I think done of want that.

Yeah, I've always had the impression that breathing, eating and sleeping were secondary passtimes to the writing for JMS. And breathing and eating are at least things one can do *while* writing.

Arguably some writers seem to have written books in their sleep.
