  • Midnight Nation-where to get it?

I've looked for it. Can't find it. Is it a graphic novel?

Yes it is, or sometimes you can find individual sets on Ebay. Here's one place you can get it: Amazon.com assuming you're in the US.

    I highly recommend it!

I got mine in a complete book in a comic shop. I wasn't looking for it, I just happened to ask if they had any Straczynsky graphic novels and there it was! I don't know if I was just lucky or if they can be just found around.

You can often find the collected issues in trade form in most decent comic shops. I saw at least two copies in mine the last time I was there, but then, that shop is almost a comic nerve center for the region. I've also stumbled across copies in the Barnes & Noble graphic novel section on about a 50/50 basis.

Failing all that, I'm certain Amazon has it.

Barnes and Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks, and your local comic book shop. All 3 bookstores have sections with comics and manga. Your local comic shop, depending on the size, should have a great selection of graphic novels and tradebacks. If they don't have it, some can even order it for you with a $5 pre-order fee, which is subtracted from the fullprice. Or go to Amazon.com get it there, or ebay

Yeah. It's not as commonly stocked as, say, every Superman or Batman ever made, but it is around, which is suprising for a "fringe" comic book more than a year old.

              Much obliged, folks!

The Borders near my house is okay for carrying graphic novels, but not the best. I just found a little comic shop in a little nook of town, I'll try there next week.

Try Comic Central. I've bought a lot of things there. Just type in "Midnight Nation" into the "search". They have a few of the comic books left, and the graphic novel too.

                  I might add this ..

I've bought things locally, at book stores, like comics and graphic novels.

Though, I've noticed that they usually have the bar codes stamped on them. If you buy the books online from a source, they usually don't have the bar codes.

It matters not if all you want them for is to read them. But, it seems to me that if you want them also for a collection, that the bar codes seem a little "cheesy" stamped on the book/magazine.

I'm b umping a really old thread here but I so hate being off topic.
I've just finished (well, last night) midnight nation and I'm inclined to agree with comments Haardy made in another thread (or a PM I forget). The ending is very JMS. I'd call it a pyrhic Victory. I'll reread at some point (when I'm not up to me a**e in revision).
I think it's been left open for continuation though. There are definitely more stories to be told in this universe.

"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Those actively involved in combat are almost always damaged goods for the rest of their lives. If their bodies don't bear scars, their minds do, ofttimes both. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "
