In the previous writer's (Mark Waid) run, Reed led the FF into Latveria to secure all the tech in Dr. Doom's castle and bring democracy to the people. (See any parallels?) (Doom was trapped in hell or a hell like dimension by the FF previously.)

The whole thing blew into an international incident and in exchange for not being placed on trial, the FF signed over their financial holdings and patents to everything Reed had already created.



BTW- Does the government scientis strike you as looking like actor Paul Giamatti?
