And another one at Newsarama, mostly focused on Dream Police, but also has some additional information on The Book of Lost Souls:

I'm really looking forward to both Dream Police & Book of Lost Souls. The samples of the artwork for Dream Police make me glad that it's going to be a graphic novel.

JMS said that if it proves popular, he'll do more.

I did swing buy the comic store today, since my job status is appearing bright, and i had a hankering for new comics. I almost picked up volumes 7 and 8 of JMS' run on Spidey, but I held off on those when I found a copy of "Bone: One Volume Edition";1341 pages, a 55 issue run for 35 bucks.

Back on topic, Dream Police looks very interesting. For years, I was skeptical about what it would be, or how the art would look. The one page sample included with an interesting overview has me hooked. A couple panels had shading that reminded me of "Road to Perdition".

If it does become a series, I hope the artist stays on board for the run, however long it may go.

From JMS on the moderated newsgroup:

          Title: Dream Police from jms
          Author: [email protected]
          Date: Mon, 28 Mar 2005 05:58:19 +0000 (UTC)

I'd mentioned a while back that I would remind folks when the stores
would begin taking orders for Dream Police...so this is it.

Dream Police will appear as a one-shot on June 22nd, but Marvel has a
tendency to print to orders, so if you don't order it up front, it may
not be available. Apparently interest is high, so I have a sneaking
suspicion this one may disappear fast.

Basically, the premise of Dream Police -- which has been in the works
for a long time now, and finally seeing print -- is that we all enter
the dreamscape when we fall asleep, and the denizens of said dreamscape
all play their roles...but when someone doesn't do their job, or a
crime against dreamers is committed, the Dream Police come in.

The thing is...the Dream Police are plain clothes detectives and beat
cops who walk, talk and behave like characters out of the Maltese
Falcon, or Dragnet, or Adam 12, that very literal, staccato, clipped
          back-and-forth style of dialogue.

So what you've got is a very funny, weird, surreal book that puts these
very noir characters up against the dreamscape...and I'm just pleased
          as punch with the result.

Hence, this recommendation. There's no long arc to sign onto, just the
one issue, but it's just a hoot and a half to read. It's fromm Marvel
under the Icon imprint, and I commend it highly to all B5 folks.

It's a bit old, but well, it hasn't been posted here yet.
There are some specifications about JMS' Silver Surfer given at Wizard World.
It will be a five-issue mini-series with art by Esad Ribic (who's work seems to be quite nice).

            Read it for instance at:

"I am just a worthless liar. I am just an embecile. I will only complicate you, trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you; I will chew it up and leave. I will work to elevate you, just enough to bring you down. Why can't we drink forever? I just want to start this over!" TOOL

                manwithnoname,

I think that emailing/writing to Top Cow would be the best way to go since JMS doesn't work for them any longer. Lettng them know that there's a market for it would be a good idea if there's not one in the works already.

You can always post a question to the moderated newsgroup, too, if you want to ask JMS yourself. You don't need anything fancy, just use

You'll need to use a valid email address to post because once you post the first time, you'll get an email with the terms of use that you have to agree to and mail back. Yes, there's a time lag for new posters and yes it takes a while for new threads to get through moderation, too but new posters are always welcome and JMS does seem to be around and reading. But...it's very cool to have JMS answer your question, too.

As for JMS on Fantastic Four, I'm looking forward to it. Who'd've thought that at my age I'd be starting to read comics again that I used to read back when they were $.12 each?!
