JMS wrote a Newsarama column about his leaving comics:

This struck me yesterday when I noticed a particularly pretty tree:

I can read license plates, see the leaves on trees…ever day I’m astonished by the new-found beauty of the world.

Ever since my very first pair of glasses I've loved looking at leaves on trees. So happy for him. And waking up and not having to grope for glasses? Heaven (when I sleep with my contacts in which is most of the time)!

Wishing him well and I hope every single thing sells because I wanna see it!!!

It's interesting to note that when Joe was writing Babylon 5 he said at that time he would go back to writing novels and plays once the show was done; so the destination was the same, the timing was different.

Sigh...I've already corrected a couple of people saying that he left comics due to the eye problems.

I was thinking how hard comics had to have been throughout the time the FCD was getting worse. Hard to approve art when your detail vision isn't good.
