  • JMS to write Twilight Zone comic!

News just in, JMS will be writing a Twilight Zone comic!

    Article at Comic Vine

    The blurb form JMS himself:

"The immediate creative question to be resolved was: how do you transplant or adapt the TV anthology format into comic form? Individual stand-alone issues don't give the issue-to-issue continuity you need to consistently bring in modern readers, and if it's a year long arc, it's not an anthology. The solution: three four-issue arcs that are connected by theme, character, and location... so that in reading one arc you get one side of the story, with its own supernatural or science-fiction elements, then you turn the character around to another character in that sequence who has his or her own story for the next four issues... and then at the end, you connect all of these individual stories into one overlapping tapestry, so you could literally view the book as individual stories as initially published, or layer the pages to create one big story. It's a cool structure that I'm not sure has been attempted before, so this will be an awful lot of fun. I'm very excited to be working with Nick and his team on this book, and hope folks will check out the books when they come out."
Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

    Twilight Zone Interview with Joe

    Hey Gang,
Joe was kind enough to share with me some of the details on the upcoming TWILIGHT ZONE book. Here's the interview: http://robpatey.com/2013/07/21/j-mic...ne-comic-book/

      Thanks for this.

A real shame 'The Flickering Light' has been pushed back, but I'm equally excited to see Sense8. I guess the cost of having so many irons in the fire is that certain things will take longer to appear.

Some nice looking pages for download from Twilight Zone #1:

And somewhat disturbing, too...as rather expected.

Loving the panel layouts. Fairly inventive!

Now there's a comic book series that I'll have to buy. Wish I could just subscribe or something and get 'em all by mail and not miss getting any issues. I've been out of the loop comic-books-wise since the late 1960s.

If there's a comic shop in your neighborhood, you might see if they'll automatically order it for you. Otherwise, check and see if Mid-Town Comics or Mile High Comics might have subscription services. They're reputable and do a huge mail order business from what I can tell.

will they be available electronically via comixology? that is how I was reading ten grand on my kindle, storage being what it is.
"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Those actively involved in combat are almost always damaged goods for the rest of their lives. If their bodies don't bear scars, their minds do, ofttimes both. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

Thanks! Off the top of my head, I know of no comic book stores in my area. Last place I saw comic books in a brick & mortar store was in the WaldenBooks in the Beaver Valley Mall in Monaca, PA, and they went under years ago. There are a few Narns & Nobles within 30 miles. However, subscription services would be the way for me to get these comic books. Otherwise, I'm sure to miss issues.

This might help you find out if there's an actual comic shop nearby. They tend to be small. I found mine entirely by accident.

One good reason to find a real shop was demonstrated last night when I went to pick up my latest issue of 'Sidekick' and the shop owner told me that TZ is slated to come out on New Year's Day. Haven't seen that verified yet but other JMS releases have debuted on the first Wed. of the month several times.
